Was this a mistake? I killed my werewolf.

Being able to turn into a werewolf was not a power I ever used. I took the cure yesterday. Now I think I regret that. I can go back to the save just before the cure. should I?

What are the benefits of being a werewolf? What am I missing apart from disease resistance? What are the negatives of staying as a wf? I think I could take the cure later when I have fully experienced this power.

Just the 100% disease resistance and the dubious power of being a werewolf. You don't get a rested bonus from sleeping but other than that there's not really a downside to merely having the beast blood.

Should you actually use the power you'll find wolf form pretty fast with loads of stamina and a couple interesting abilities like an aoe fear and powerful knock down, you'll also find out that the form is actually pretty damn weak offensively and defensively.

And being in form has the annoyance of not being able to loot anything for the duration.

Checking the wiki.... Not being a werewolf any more seems to have cut out a Companions Radiant quest or two. Like the Hircine one and getting that extra werewolf power, whatever that is. I think my PC should revert to having the beast blood for a while longer. It seems silly not to have ever tried being a werewolf. I think I have to do it, revert.

By not being a werewolf, you'll never know that Argonians taste like chicken.

Game mechanics-wise, the only downside is the lack of a rested bonus. If you rarely make use of that (or you're using a birthsign stone instead) then it's of no real consequence.

The other main upshot (even if you never use the werewolf form to fight) is that it's far faster than any other means of in-world travel, so it can be helpful when you're traveling to new locations (as long as you avoid populated areas along the way). If you have the Ring of Hircine (and thus effectively have unlimited transformations) then you can use this as your means of travel pretty much 100% of the time.

I am convinced already. I'll revert. Thank ya, Neutronium. I can always cure myself later.
