Just read this. How is it done?

Just read this reply on one of my threads. Its by a fellow board member.

He writes....

"As if a Sword&Board character isn'r the most boring and 'overpowered' style you can pursuit. I am not judging you for it but it's easy, dual wielding characters actually have to employ more strategy and timing and most of all, evasion to outlive their opponents. Don't get me started on the Mage section. :P "

MY question is how does one EVADE in this game? There really isn't any type of evasion of any kind in this game at all! Moving over to the side or back-stepping still allows the enemy to hit me.

I can't tell by your last comment, but are you aware of the dodging perks under the Light Armor tree?

It doesnt work brother. Do you have any idea how many times I moved to get out of a swinging attack and I STILL get hit. No matter how far I moved.

I concur with this person. Moving just gets you stabbed while your in a different location.

Its ONLY 10%

It'd be pretty dull if it was like 50% or something. And I will repeat what has already been said - move around. Stepping back when you see an attack coming isn't that hard. Sidestepping can sometimes work, too. Try brawling with someone, it kinda gives some perspective into how and when to move to manually dodge. Sorry if you expected ninja jumps and Tekken-style parry moves.

While I'm not a dual wielder myself the videos I've seen of it action basically boil down to;

rush in like a madman
swing swords wildy
everything dies.

Not sure where tactics come into play there. Or at least I've never seen a video of one using anything resembling tactics with dual wielding.

I'm with this person. I dodge attacks fairly often on my dual-wielder. It's as simple as moving out of the way of an attack before it comes.

Then you're not doing it right.

We must be playing different games. I can dance circles around bandit chiefs and not get hit.

I'm a warrior (Sword&Board), I take hits and shrug them off?

Edit: meant to be a question not a statement.

A warrior by definition (in terms of video games) doesn't have to use evasion to outlive their opponent?

I guess my question is, if you have a shield, why would you evade?

I love dual wielding, but it doesn't really take tactics.

Strong attack? Keep hitting or step back.

Weak attack? Keep hitting or step back.

At least with a shield you need to be able to tell what your enemy is going to do, to block well.

Moving does work you just have to understand the lenght of your opponents weapon
and move accordenly, the move I use most is to strike and then move in and left or
to strike and move past and get an extra hit on thier back

not if you have the slow mo perk
just block everything and when slow mo kicks in do a shield bash

dual wielding I usually just ignore light attacks since they hardly hurt and don′t interrupt my attacks
and when they do a power attack I just try to get out of the way
