Is it sensible to become a werewolf on the first play-throug

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 12:26 pm

This is my first skyrim playthrough or should I say my first RPG game playthrough. Now I just started doing the companion missions and my friend told me that you can become a werewolf from the companion quest line. He did go through with becoming a werewolf but that was his second playthrough.

Should I become a werewolf on my first playthrough? Is is overwhelming to use werewolf abilities?

It doesn't really matter at all.

This, your never forced to use the beast form, the benefits of becoming a werewolf is the immunity to disease. Either or its up to you, but I would get it even if you dont plan on using it.

You can just ignore it all together, it's just another "spell" in the menu. Use it whenever you want.

It is just a skill you can use so you don't have to if you find it overpowering. So far it hasn't been like other games in the past where you had to kill an innocent or be stuingck in that form. I am thinking of Daggerfall mostly that was always annoying. I think vampirism has a feature like that but so far I have avoided that feature on my characters.

It hardly makes a difference. The upside is immunity to diseases at all times, and perhaps the once a day superman mode and the downside is not being able to get a rested bonus from sleeping. Other than that there are no real consequences for becoming a werewolf.

It's not sensible to become a werewolf at any playthrough.

upside is the immunity, downside is the forcer third person view and the constant comments about hairy ears.

I enjoyed werewolf for a while. Then I forgot all about it because my normal form abilities far surpassed anything that beast form offered me. It really is irrelevant.

To finish the Companions' questline you need to become one, but you never are forced to use it.

Only if you get some mods. There's already a mod allowing your health to regenerate and adds extra health as a werewolf.

It really doesn't matter that much besides the immunity from diseases I don't even use beast mode that much because I feel that it is too under powered.

You can always try it, and cure yourself at the end of the companions questline if you don't like it.

I personally didn't like being a werewolf, and only used beastmode once while I was infected. I know some people seem like to playing as a werewolf, but my character is a khajiit, so transforming into a half-man/half-animal type isn't really that big of a deal to me.

Just uh , don't forget you have it equipped to Z and accidentally trigger it while you're talking to the Jarl in his throne room =P It wasn't pretty.

You can go that route on your 1st playthrough if you want too and if you don't like being a Werewolf, at the end of the Companion guildline if you have the right item with you, you can get rid of your Lycanthropy.

Another question, you know how if someone sees you transforming then you committing a crime? Well if I have someone following me and helping me out and then I transform does the follower watching me transform still see me as committing a crime?

Being a werewolf is pretty rad. And also pretty easy to cure at the end of the companion questline.

Are you forced into 3rd person only when in werewolf form? I hate 3rd person view, it ruins immersion factor.

yes you can only play in 3rd person. I dont mind werewolf for 3rd person but I barely ever use 3rd person for my gameplay

i never used it, and ultimately i had to use a console to remove it because the quest to cure it was buggy as gosh.
