Mages, look here!

I go with pure mage with robes+alteration armor for defense. Since how I play focuses on avoiding damage, having heavy/light armor not a big deal to me. Also the looks :D

I just see at as more fitting wearing a cloth for a mage. Wearing heavy would make me think that I'm cheating the game, haha. But, Beth give us this option, so I guess its up to everyone what they want to do.

Thanks for all the tips.

"Pure" mages do not wear armour at all. They wear robes or cloths.

Armour on a mage, means their a battle-mage! You want to be a battle-mage, not a pure mage.

Sorry to nit-pick in your thread, but it's one of those things that just rubs me the wrong way.

I don't want to be a battle-mage :-)

And you are forgiven, just

As you get higher in a magical school yes spells will be more costly, but the cost will also go down as you level through that particular school. This is why enchantments are a mages best friend.

Ive seen someone else posted that they love to have two dremora lords up at the same time, I havent tried it, but from this statement I can pretty much assure you that you can :-)

ok, cool.

anyway, a pure mage doesn't wear armor, from a rp perspective. I currently wear the adept robes of illusion and they are very good for now :)
