So I took him to clavicus vile and finished the first part of his quest. Next I have to go get the rueful axe but wanted to do something else instead before. I told barbas not to follow me anymore while in breezhome. He was there for a while but has disappeared. Does anyone know where he goes or if I can find him somewhere? I hope I did not screw up this quest by dismissing him. Anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Hmm, thats a hard call. The reward was a lot better in Oblivion IMO, if you chose not to take the masque.

The dog will go back to the shrine. Also a little plus is when you come back with the axe the vampires in the cave may respawn and barbas will kill thee master vampire who spawns in the shrine room for you

my char is not an axe user, but I just had to kill stupid barbas as a revenge from oblivion
