The murder in windhelm quest amulet, and Lisbeth's Dibella s

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:52 pm

Whats the deal with this? I finished the quest, the skull is on the amulet now, and when I try to put it into storage, it says it's a quest item. I was hoping I could store it for later to enchant.

Also, when I did the Dibella quest, and returned it to Lisbeth, I stole it back because I wanted it for my house, but I can't drop it because THAT is a quest item too. My character is a thief; he cant help himself. I tried to initiate the conversation about the missing statue; couldn't.
I tried reverse pick pocketing it; couldn't. And I tried dropping it into one of her chests; no luck. It's been in my inventory for several weeks, and seeing this stuck there is annoying.

These quest items that remain quest items after completion is very frustrating. Anyone got an answer to these issues? Thank you.

On PC you can do player.removeitem x, where x is the offending object's ID number (which you can look up on the UESP wiki). If you're not on PC, then there's no way to fix it that I'm aware of. Maybe you can hire a mercenary, give them the item, then dismiss them?

Edit: I've never done Blood on the Ice, and after reading all the complaints on this forum, it's unlikely I ever will.

You have to sell it to
Spoiler

Calixto, loot it from him, and presto! You get to keep it.

When I did the Blood on the Ice quest, I actually finished it without ever having found the stupid amulet. Then, I bought the house after I finished the Storcloak rebellion. After I finished buying all of the decorations for Hjerim, I found the amulet and picked it up. Now I can't get rid of it either. It really kind of svcks. Does anyone know if you can get rid of it by serving jail time?

I also am stuck with the unskulled amulet but I didn't speak to the Jarl or someone and have now bought the house but didn't get the 'clean up' option and that room would look godd as an enchant/alchemy room. I hope there is actually a house DLC in which the house actually has dummies and chests instead of one or the other cause storage svcks in Skyrim apart from Breezehome but that has no dummies:(

I didn't sell the amulet to Calixto when I first had the chance, thinking it might be important evidence in the yet-to-be-concluded murder quest. When I returned to Calixto later, I couldn't get the option to sell it to him. Irritating.

There is a quest chain in Solitude where you follow an Argonian into the East Empire Trading warehouse, then into a secret cavern. I found a statue of dibella there. Also, you could enter Maven Blackbriar's home in Riften, and find one there. Oh, and Haelga also has one, of course! But yes, I also got stuck with Lisbet's statue when I killed her and the others after completing that Daedric quest line.

On PC you can do player.removeitem x, where x is the offending object's ID number (which you can look up on the UESP wiki).

You can get the code for anything by using 'help "item name" 0' in the console.

Yeah but it's faster for me to use the wiki: "alt-tab, click, click, click" (I nearly always have the tab already open; if I don't it's one extra click) vs. typing, then reading all the output... the wiki usually wins, for me at least. Besides, I went through a phase of looking up NPCs a lot, and the NPC_ ID number for me is always the wrong one, so I got out of the habit of looking things up in game. I pretty much only use that when my second monitor is already in use watching a movie or something. ;)

Oh, and if you're doing the Thieves Guild quests, Mercer Frey has a Dibella Statue in his house too.
