Contemplating on Experimenting with a Khajiit Hunter rolepla

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 10:48 am

I was thinking of doing something interesting. Putting my current character on hold and playing a peaceful Khajiit monk hunter. Has no interest in civilization or dungeons. No thievery or murder or mercenary work. Not interested in war. Shy and spiritual, stays outdoors, stays far away from big cities. Trades with the Khajit caravans and smaller settlements only. Lives off the land making an honest living as a hunter.

Was thinking if I do this playthrough, it would force me to rely on my claws, at least in the beginning. Never played a Khajiit before, so any tips would be welcome about how I can optimize this. I'm thinking very light armor, like leather or hide.....out of stuff I can make. Probably sword and shield + archery + alteration.

I'de imagine my guy would be pretty poor, pretty much makes all his money selling leather and horns that he gets from hunting deer and bear to the caravans and small villages. Cooks venison and whatever he can get at campfires. But then again, maybe he just eats the raw meat....I mean, he's a cat.

I think it would be a breath of fresh air of having an always outdoors, never indoors, no fast-travel character. No objectives, basically. Just wanders.

Was also thinking my Khajit in Elven Armor with no helmet would look pretty bad ass for later in the game....

Any Khajiit followers?

I was thinking of roleplaying a drugar. I'd just lie there doing nothing for centuries until some crazy adventurer came for the 4 gold coins I have for some reason.

lol. It just seems like all of Skyrim just corrupts you with either war or civilization or thievery or mercenary work or dungeon fetching. Just wanted to play a good guy who actually works for a living lol and doesn't kill someone over some Daedric artifact.

Sounds good. If you aren't against it, maybe he can clear a bandit camp somewhere and use that as his home. Getting to a forge (to make armor and weapons for himself) might be tricky but I bet he could find one somewhere without going into a town.

There are several forges in bandit camps IIRC.

He trades with the small villages, but not the capital cities. So he would use the forge and trading in the villages.

I would think a peaceful monk hunter would have no use for personal possessions or a home. Just carries whats on his back. that's it.

@Oyclo - funny!

There are two followers, yes.

And you didn't mention sugar! - a lone Khajiit would spend lots and lots of time on that subject. For sure. In fact, withOUT moon sugar, they get sick, I think.

I always thought of Khajiits like Rastafarians for some reason - I guess the whole living-god and religious-need-for-[substance] things, mostly. And their cool hair.

I have tried to play a Khajit, but the game has next to no recognition of that fact. Sure, the occasional bandit likes to tell me how I remind him of a cat he once killed, but other Khajit/people don't offer you anything else to either isolate or accept you in any fashion.

I want to play an outcast race..... but no one treats me as an outcast no matter how hard I try. Was a bit disappointed.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like the only High Elf who isn't on a mission to promote Elven Supremacy 24/7. In fact, other High Elves treat me as inferior like I'm some Imperial or something.
