I'm not going to make a poll, as there are way too many options, aha, but who is your favorite Jarl?

Mine would have to be Jarl Balgruuf the greater. He's smart, cares about his people above all-else, doesn't get caught up in the civil war until he truly has to, cares about his children, is level-headed... he's just an all around great guy.


And it doesn't hurt that he reminds me a bit of Rohan and King Théoden. lD

I like Balgruuf as well, after all he gave me Lydia I also like Elisif (not sure if that's correct) I think she's pretty hot for a computer generated character and a widow now so single

I can't stand Eliseif, She's too weak to rule, a simple puppet in the hands of either the empire or the Stormcloaks.

I'd go for Ulfric or Balgruuf, although the daughter of the original Morthal's Jarl is pretty hot.

Mine is Elisif the Fair. The poor thing is just trying to keep things together, and has to step up to a role bigger then her shoes when she presumably becomes High Queen after Skyrim (after Ulfric's head is sent to adorn the Imperial City's walls).

And yes, Balgruuf the Greater is also an excellent leader. I can't believe you invaded Whiterun against him... the defence of Whiterun against Stormcloak invaders and preserving Balgruuf's just and legitimate reign was one of my proudest moments in the Civil War.

Jarl Ulfric

Death for the Imperials! After Season Unending I loved siding with the Stormcloaks. The empire is falling down, you fools!

Jarl Balgruuf is a massive [censored]. There, i said it. I've seen pregnant women with less mood swings than him.
Jarl Elisif is an idiot, relying only on her steward or General Tullius to make decisions for her.

My favourite is the Jarl of Falkreath. He's a layabout who does nothing while his steward handles everything important and he knows it. He knows he has the easiest job in the world and he's taking full advantage of it, I respect his commitment to living the high life with none of the responsibilites that come with it, kudos. He's kind of an ass of course, but still.

Jarl Ulfric, for his voice. (that means two things)

I'm actually pretty disappointment in the lack of depth and personality in the jarls in general. Save for Ulfric, they don't really seem to have much persona. I do like Elisif, however - the way she is so obviously in over her head with the duties of an inheritary jarl is somewhat sympathetic.

The Jarls svck, actually in all honestly the characters in Skyrim have 2 feet of depth to them, they give you a taste of what they could have been and leave you out tot dry. with the Jarl of Falkreath being the most utterly BORING.

Interesting Jarls to me from greatest to crap

Igrod of Morthal - Sage like, level headed knows pure well that everyone other than her are Blind as bats, cares about her people and has an invisible Iron fist.

Elisif of Solitude ONLY because I'm not sure if theres more to her after a particular quest that deals with a certain queen.

Ulfric is self explanatory

Falkreath's jarl has 4 lines, is happier than everyone else in the region.

Balgruuf is a dip

Markarths Jarl follows suit

and Riftens Jarl no matter how caring and compassionate she is, is still oblivious to the state of her own Region.

And don't dare tell me Tullius isn't the Jarl of Solitude. Even Erikur, one of Elisif's Thanes, admits Tullius is the real power at play. And his sister, Gisli, says that the real power in the court is in Falk Firebeard's hands, which is a good thing, Falk is a better leader than Elisif.

i did try stormcloaks one time... but as i came to whiterun and finished the take over.. i deleted the char. broke my heart for me, the only way to really do stormcloaks is to play a nord full of hate.

She is young (I'd say she is somewhere between 18 and 25), and as a queen of a king she likely had minimal role in ruling Solitude.
No ruler is an expert at first. In the days of the old many monarchs were puppets for their first years, the realm ruled by mothers and uncles, until they were old and experienced enough to rule themselves.
