PS3 Skyrim and Dawnguard

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:10 am

Skyrim is now reaching the 8th month mark. While the game is amazing for Xbox-360 and PC users, it is still somewhat of a choir for PS3 users. Even in its current state (patch 1.5), the game has frame rate issues in some areas and has tons of bugs. But ever since the announcement of Dawnguard its made me wonder, will this dlc be just like fallouts for PS3? I want to play this dlc but if it is unplayable then there's no point in getting it. On top of that Xbox-360 users are getting the beta.

This doesn't overly bother me but if consoles were to get betas then shouldn't it be the PS3 getting the beta? I'm not saying this because i play on PS3, but so that we can test it. So that they can take are save game files, and examine how it runs on PS3. This way they can offically announce that we are play testing our own game, because they clearly didn't test 1.5 on PS3. Because I will be really mad and kinda sad if I cant play the dlc because of technical problems.

What do you guys think, will Skyrim's dlc work on PS3? or will it crash and burn just like all of Bethesda's other PS3 dlc's?

If you want the Beta or dlc get an Xbox. There is no point complaining. Xbox users have to pay yearly subscriptions. Maybe that is why. I'm sure Bethesda will test the PS3 version themselves and will make sure no Xbox bugs are in it.

PS3 gets it a month after 360 I think. I'm still getting it for PS3.

the PS3 is more playable than it was at launch. (depends on your playstyle but I'm having no trouble with PS3 version.)

And it's likely the Dawnguard expansion will function correctly on PS3 and be playable. I don't think any PS3 DLC passes without quality assurance and make sure it's playable on at least most systems they test.

I take it you haven't played Fallout 3 or New Vegas DLC's on PS3?

I played F3 (no DLC). Hated it because I just didn't like the theme/scenario/etc. It had some okay things, but no longer interested in playing anything Fallout. I didn't play New Vegas, but wasn't that developed by a totally different team/company anyway?

Those games were new to the PS3 distribution system. I am sure the bugs have been worked out by now.

Fallout 3 DLC is horrendous on PS3. New Vegas was developed by Obsidian, but uses the same engine.
