what the @%*! do I have to do to get honeyside? (PC) : V

I've been at this for two days now trying to buy honeyside...I've helped everyone I can find to help, I've done the 2 skooma quests and yet honeyside is still unavailable. So what the hell do I have to do to get that @*&!$ to sell me a $%&*!%# house?

The quest get's bugged quite a bit. You can fix it with this console command:

setstage FreeformRiftenThane 20

I think it might be the order in which you do things. Do the two Skooma quests and then help a couple/few people in Riften. That's what I did.

Personally I think the house in Whiterun is better or the house in Markarth if you want the enchanting station. Whiterun is great for having all the smithing stations nearby

Buy the house in Solitude. It's the best and only have to do one favor for the yarl and one dungeon. And of course you have an extra room downstairs to stash your dead wife in.

Did you do the whole skooma quest?

Spoiler

Give the lady a potion, than have her tell you who the dealer is
Talk to the Jarl, than clear out the warehouse.
Pick up the shipment ready paper and read it
Talk to the Jarl
Clear out the bandit den
Talk to the Jarl

Than you have to do like 2-3 favor quests

Easiest are:
Do the Ore Sample errand for the old lady in the Alchemy Shop, than can run messages for Stlygia (sp?) and clear out the mine
Talk to the Jarl's son and pick up the blade from the smith (will be to the side of the keep practicing with the guards)
Talk to the Redguard that was arguing with Sapphire when you entered (may be in the stables), than talk to Sapphire

After that, the Jarl should have a "is there anything else I can do" chat dialogue. She tells you to buy the house.

Save here, buy the house, upgrde it, than talk to the Jarl and become a Thane. Go check out the house to make sure everything upgrades like it should.

I was surprised by this one, I had barley even done anything in Riften, except rob people for the thieves guild. But for some reason i was named thane one day when i walked into the Jarls palace. Maybe i got a positive bug on this one.

Find the Argonian lady who needs a heal potion in Riften, usually she is on the docks near the fishery. After you give it too her she will have the option to talk about bad skooma. She will send you to the Jarl and you do 2 very small quests and she offers you the house.
