EasiestShortest Travel to find Vampires?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:17 pm

I want to be a vampire on this playthrough but I need to know some places where they can be found at. I know about the place near the Throat of the World but where else can I go that won't be made into a long journey?

Just NW of Falkreath, on the Northern side of the small mountain range there, there is a place called North Shriekwind Bastion.

It has a Vampire just inside the entrance, and a Master Vampire (who is a hard-ass BTW) at the very end of the dungeon. Plus there is a Word Wall in there, I just can't remember which one it is.

I guess the answer depends on where you are right now. If you mean, from the start of a new game, then:

Just north of Helgen, before you even get to the Alchemist's Shack, there's a cave off to the right of the path. It's full of vampires.

You wouldn't happen to have a name for this particular cave, would you?

I believe he's referring to Haemar's Shame... take the road due east out of Helgen and you'll run right by it.

Why would you want to become a vampire? I spent 3 ingame weeks as one and it was miserable,, cold, dirty and bleak.
As I recall I must have got infected around Haemars shame, arOUND the city of morthal and ustengrov. Missions in either nasty places will get you close to vampire action. Urh. good luck, I guess. Thanks to some awesome helpfull poster here I learnt the cure for vampirism. Generally, keep alot of cure disease potions with you incase you change your mind. Or, feed on people so you can reduce your level and then go find some guy who will help cure you of this fetid disease. Then, become a werewolf so you'll never get inftected by the bloodsvcking [censored]ers ever again :)

There is a vampire cave between Whiterun and Rorikstead (closer to Rorikstead).

Why? Why not? The penalties really aren't that rough. Avoiding it is also easy if you don't want it. The infection takes days.

And yeah, Haemar's Shame it is.

Haemar's Shame, good to go.

And I think that the people cracking on Vampirism are the same people who are severely lacking in creativity. If you simply stop and think through a situation, take into consideration all that your character can do, then you'll find that Vampirism gives you more Pro's than Con's.

I've had a solid Vampire character since the release, and I've never once thought about curing it. I have a second character that I repeatedly cure and get reinfected, just to see how quests run differently when I don't have the Vampy beef-ups affecting my stats.

Getting around the drawbacks that come with each subsequent Stage of Undeath are easy if you just take the time to stop and think about the current situation that you're in.

I mean, if I'm a Vampire, and I've been out in the field for a while, I'm almost guaranteed to be Stage 4. I'm not going to be stupid and just charge into a major settlement. I look for the outlying Farms and such, and find a nice comfy cave or other unoccupied place to wait in until around 1am. Then I go sneaky-sneaky into said Farm and feed to my unbeating hearts content.

Then, since I most likely have some business in a major city, I can now waltz right in with a cheery wave to the local constables, and no one is the wiser.

If someone does discover you at Stage 4, then you have some neat Vampy powers that will help you get out of it.

Seriously, you guys act like Vampirism is a death sentence (sorry about that. Had to. ;)) for your character, when in fact, if you take the time to develop even the most basic, rudimentary strategy, then you would realize that your character can be a naughty Vampire God if you should so choose.

it just requires a little bit of brain power, not just running in screaming "GROG SMASH!!!!" and hitting everything like a caveman.

Mara's Pond or something (about midway between Whtierun and Windhelm, not far past the Silver hand fort at Gallows Rock), Trapdoor on the middle island.

Two regular vampires only, if Haemars is a bit dicey for you.
