hardcoe mode, to play how its meant to be played.

Hi everyone :turned:

Basically I have read so many threads about how this game is easy when you get to higher levels and how it holds no challenge any more. Well if you join this then your sure to find a challenge all right ;)

The Rules

1) You can only improve one weapon/armour at any one time, so no stacking effects. and no previous potions or enchanted smited apparel to do so.

2) You can’t enchant anything, you can however use an enchanted item the world provides you with but that’s it.

3) You’re not allowed to take someone’s armour or weapons unless your going to swap them for your own or taking them for bragging rights. (This is to stop a rise to millionaredom as so many complain about)

4) Alchemy can be used to make poisons and potions but without the aid of enchanted equipment. And ingredients used must be found, not bought. As well as a cap of 5 potions/poisons at any one time. So you’re not able to take Heman juice every thirty seconds or stay invisible for hours.

5) Only one of every weapon (barring daggers and swords) when was the last time you saw a soldier holding two Heavy machineguns in real time battle?

6) Your hero must eat! At least a pie the wife makes (dam Lydia I hate you, but the pie makes up for it) you must eat and drink something each day (there are no negative effects for not doing this, its merely to enhance your RP experience. so go to a tavern if your hungry for some sweet roll xD)

7) You can only save in a town or a friendly forces camp, no saves in caves ;) its dangerous out there so be careful.

None of you have to do this, or even read it for that matter. But after testing this out for the last half hour its proved highly rewarding, and im getting the feeling of awe as how I did at the beginning of the game. To put it this way, a dragon would be dead in 4-5 hits from my bow before. Now im running like hell away from one with 23 steel arrows protruding from its very angry looking face.

So if you want to be a part of this put your character name down, his species, profession , even allegiance if you have one and post when something interesting happens on your travels, have a great adventure now :) !!

Template.

Here is mine, so feel free to use as a template.

Name: Kylar Juri
Race: Bosemer
Age:26
Profession: Dark Brotherhood Assassin
Job: Game Hunter
Allegiance: Imperials
Current level: 43
Follower: (this can obviously change so just update us with a post when it does :) )
Back ground: (your imagination of what happened before you were bound and on your way to the headsman’s block) Kylar was born and raised in the imperial city, born into the wreck that the empire was just after the white gold concord treaty was signed was not a easy task. His parents both eleven immediately fell into even more racism and anger from the imperials native to the province. His father found his end with a knife stuck in his back after a brawl in a tavern, unable to raise kylar herself his mother carried him all the way to bravil, and laid him upon the goddess she believed in, the lucky old lady statue in the black of night, and without a word left him there. By pure luck or fate, the listener of the Brotherhood found the infant and took pity on him. Carrying him back to the sanctuary in cheydenhall he brought him in like any other ‘Family member’. Gave the sanctuary the job to bring him up and teach him the way of the dark family. When he came of age he succeeded his first contract without flaw, showing a natural knack of talent with the bow. One year a special contract was given, and even through all the hardships and loss the brotherhood had taken through the years. This contract was like a gift given from sithis. Kylar had found his fathers murderer’s identity through years of off side research and bags of gold. The contract was of this man, and after Kylar had finished with the contract in ways some of the brotherhood would of even cringed, he returned home. Only to find his sanctuary…his home burning. After escaping the chaos and loosing the only family he ever had, kylar left the province and headed north. To get as far away from the empire and all that loss as he could. He then chanced up a group of storm cloaks, a side to a war that kylar had never really researched apart from idle gossip by innkeepers. As he found them so did a imperial ambush party, in the confusion that last thing he remembered before waking up on a carriage was the sight of a mace coming down towards his head.

Most of these are silly, you can choose not to enchant or smith.

But I would like a sleep/food/drink meter that you have to do, or you suffer like in fallout. Also make gold, arrows, lockpicks basically everything have weight, not much but at least something. I think the hardcoe option should be another thing under settings, and you have a list of what you can turn on and off. Maybe they could have a stop fast traveling option, that would make me stick to it ha, just use carriages/horses/walking.

I might try it on one of my more "RP intensive" games. Sounds rather fun actually

So far it has been for me, just went into a tavern to get a room to sleep in(save) and some ale and a rabbit stew. took a stool and overheard a conversation about a local bandit nuisance. Bing and im on a quest to kill bandits, all feels alot better now that ive ditched all my echanted stuff and my hoarde of potions :)

The only rules I plan to implement that I think I can follow with ease are the following:

No more fast travel. Carriages only.

No enchanting. This ruins much of what you will find in the game.

No skill enhancing potions. Health/Stamina/Resist only. Poisons are fine.

No smithing of anything above Ebony armor. No Daedric armor. No Dragon armor unless you've completed the main quest. No smithing of any item above Flawless. No smithing of magical items at all.

No carrying of more than three weapons, and one of them can only be a dagger.

Non-mages do not use staffs.

And no followers.

Followers make sense...don't see why you wouldn't...Keep them limited to what you are following, and it's fine. Followers are almost necessary early into the game.

I do all of these things myself, makes the game more fun for me. I usually always eat something after a battle and avoid metagaming by make myself buy a recipe for alchemy before I can craft a potion for example (I may know a recipe but my character doesn't).

I get your reason for this and pretty much agree with your whole idea, but this reminds me too much of console gaming, which I hated with a passion.
