1) Have Rage use an in-game web browser, with the browser's Homepage being this(or any future official) Rage forum. THAT way, We(^_^) will counter the bad, bad problem I have observed with other failed Triple-A games, of which there are more People posting on the forums of the said games, than Playing the games in question.

So, how will allowing them to do the same thing, but just with more irony, solve the problem? Well then, at least having the game a bit more in their Faces more of the time, will make them feel "more at ease" with shifting from online web surfing, to gaming; instead of facing the dread of succumbing the obstacle of having to *launch* a game, after surfing around on the net(of which is so easy to do as compared to launching Your average, contemporary game...that we now have Web Browser Tabz!!!!!).

^_^

If it's released on Steam, it will pretty much have a built in web-browser in steams overlay.

Somehow I dont think you will see a community built around this like Quake2 had. The gaming worlds changed. Rage seems to have a strong focus on the single player and console-playability, rather than the pc community and multiplayer. I think for that, we will have to look towards Brink and current/future Valve games for those quake communities of old.

Good idea m8 but why would any one want to d/l Quake 4 for free when they can play Quake live which is a better game in my opinion for free, surely spreading the word on Quake live would be as affective, Good post though, I really do hope ID thinks out the box for the MP and make it the best feeling fps to date, If they can get the feel that you get playing Quake 3, cod2,cod4 as in feel like your really in control of the avatar and the feel of the guns right, which I don't doubt they will and is what I really look for in an fps then we are cooking on gas baby, Bring home the bacon ID :celebration:

Please let it have online co-op with one more buddy....Having an npc follow u around could sometimes be a distraction in games, but drop in-drop out would be great...I always imagine what oblivion & fallout would be like if I could do everything i could in the singleplayer with another person without taking out anything...

Buddha.DeNL82 say :

2) Due to the anti-establishment facet of Quake 2's single player, which were, but not the least:

a) the hyper-violence of which made watch-dog, and parental-advisory groups go haywire; of which brought massive attention to Quake 2(via televised medium, etc), and hence, exposed the aforesaid game to an otherwise and possibly inaccessible Playerbase...

What you want to say by this sentence ?
I'm sorry if i don't understand, but i'm french :whistling:

In fact, you say that Quake 2, for example, have a small degree of hyper-violence, and nevertheless, he(it) attracted(enticed) a lot of people, it is ca?

If that's right, I completely agree.
