WORST Bug I've experienced yet

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 4:14 pm

Soooo...... After 100+ hours of play time over 2 different characters, never touching the main questline past triggering dragons, I finally decided to make a Nord Warrior worthy of being dragonborn to take on the main questline. Everything is going perfect and im getting the epic shudders every step of the way, absolutely loving it, until a frost troll kills me.

svcks, but it happens, not too big of a deal, reload from last autosave which was about 2 minutes prior and on the same mountain.

When i load the autosave I have an arrow sticking straight up from the right side of my chest, as if somebody shot me in the chest from directly above me. and its blocking a very good portion of my vision in first person perspective.Slightly concerned, i carry on hoping it goes away as most arrows do. 10 minutes later still there, 20 minutes later, still there.

I was very careful not to autosave, not entering cities or areas, not opening my menu, so i could reload my previous autosaves as a last resort. Eventually i decide its about that time.

I reload the autosaves one by one, and the arrow is somehow bugged into my vision in every one. Even though when loading those same autosaves prior to the bug, it was not there. (i died quite a few times on this mountain)

I havent made any real saves with this character as i have not switched to either of my other characters since creating him. so every save of this character is now bugged. An iron arrow has successfully killed my character entirely. And the best part is, no one even shot me with an arrow. since going outside i had fought a frostbite spider, a bear, and some icewolves.

Sorry for the long winded story, but I really need to express the horrible [censored] frustration on this one...

Bethesda, why do you do this to me when i love you so?

Thats a horrible bug to have, as you couldnt even try to escape it in many ways.

I started using this mod, its a hotkey quick save, but the save never overwrites, it quick saves to a bran new save so no overwriting (you can set what key you want as well):

I have auto saves all switched off, end of each session I use console save and name it, and I use the above mod for quick save method.

What platform are you on? Also restarting the game usually fixes stuff like this but I imagine you already tried that.
Otherwise sometimes getting shot by some more arrows will fix it.

Yea that's what I thought too...
If you have PC try typing showracemenu into console typing in your name and continuing on as normal.

Get shot by other arrows, should fix.

Transforming into a Werewolf also works.

Can you go to your weapons menu and drop all iron arrows? That has worked for me in the past.

Is the arrow in your inventory?
If so you can drop it and it wont in your body anymore.

In 1.2 I have no more arrows that stay stuck in me. With all of 1.2s problems it fixed that for me.

My worst bugs are.

1. The ash piles will not disappear they just stay where they land. This problem has persisted with Bethesda games since Fallout 3 if they cannot remove ash piles from the world they should not have them in game.

2. It seems that weapons enemies drop just stay where they were dropped and then they randomly float in the air and remain there, until I pick them up.

3. The magic resistance bug. ( I am on 360.)

4. Items exploding in your house, and objects moving on their own.

5. Bugged bookcases, weapon racks, armor displays, and dagger cases.

6. Bugged quest. An example, I cannot even begin Blood on the Ice.

This game is one of the most bugged titles I have ever played.
