I think it's a completely silly oversight by Bethesda's writing team.

Spoiler

I had Faendal as a companion and went after the silver bloods as a werewolf. I changed when he wasn't around but then he caught up with me as I was feeding on a silver blood and didn't say anything, didn't quit my service nothing. No reaction at all.

I'm wondering if Aela turns into a werewolf when you do.

Can't be Farkas or Vilkas because you cure them.

I am completely surprised by Bethesda's writing teams lack of attention in some glaringly obvious situations. I do love the game, played 610 hrs and have created about one of every character, but this is a blunder.

Sadly no, the only time you see Aela in Werewolf form is during the ritual. But her turning would make for a great patch/alteration idea. But no sorry.

It's even more of an oversight when the Companions attack you on sight when you're in werewolf form.

Agreed. It would be nice if some factions ignored the fact that you are a werewolf, or even a vampire.
Some people in the college would be for it due to their desire to study things.

the dark brotherhood for sure has a past member that was a werewolf, and a current a vampire.

Maybe an option to spread your condition to followers or other factions would be nice. A whole Dark Brotherhood of vampires would work.

And thus the Werewolf race prospored with the sound of pitta pat on the floor boards of 101 Werewolf pups with one named "Lucky" this event in Skyrim's history would be taken in the distant future by the Empire's future self "Disney" and made into an animated film.
