Cant see the treasure chests even though i have the treasure : V

So I was playing skyrim with my cousin and we decided to go hunting for chests and then we went for one in the top left corner of the map and so after we got that one we decided to go for others and we got the treasure map for the one in the tree trunk west of riverwood and when I got there it wasn't there so I tried others and they still wernt there so I was wondering why I can't see them

I have found treasure maps IV and VII I think... never got the others... and never found any chest from these lol.

Guess I'll hunt seriously for these later.

These treasures are interesting ?

I've had this bug too, honestly have no idea why they dont show on my one save, but do on my other ... Same location, both with treasure map

No im pretty sure im looking in the right place because the treasure map points into a tree trunk and when it wasn't there I went on YouTube to make sure so I watched the video and it was right were I was looking and so when I went for others I looked on YouTube they still wernt there like the one between the rocks next to a lighthouse that one wasn't there and it was on the video

I was told the updates took them out because you can get the strongest armor and weapons out of them(that's what I heard all I've gotten was really good archer stuff) but I don't know I tried making a new save and that one didn't work either maybe if I clear my system cache?

Apparently, for http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1309125-1370-fixes-treasure-maps/, 1.2 broke the maps, then 1.3 fixed them.

Are you running 1.3? I just happened to read that thread just before I saw this one.

I've heard that ff you found the maps before 1.3 came out, they likely won't work. 1.2 broke them, and if they are already in your inventory when 1.3 came out, they are still broken.

Well right now my internet is shutoff so yeah I am running on 1.2 and im getting internet back today or so so ill see if it works. Right now im sitting in study hall on my LG quantum haha. Pretty boring so I just come on here and read posts and reply and stuff

Bleh. I had map 3 and 4 I think, and 1 of them was removed from my inventory when I walked into my room the the Mage college. Like, it said that on the top of my screen and everything. Not sure if I was pickpockets or what but I can say bye bye to that treasure.

Well the thing is my favorite thing to do on games like this is to explore and find dungeons and hidden stuff and hunt for rare items and secret treasure chests

I've actually found Treasure Maps I, II, III & IV and succesfully located/collected each treasure. I love this kind of things. (Patch 1.1 on xbox 360)

Huh... I just figured the treasure maps weren't for chests, per say.

The one map I actually followed lead me to a corner with like 6 viens of gold, so I jsut figured THAT was the treasure.

Well the first one is for a chest all right...my orc didn't get a chest, but I went and got the map on my mage, and when he went to the log after opening the map, the chest was there. So it was apparently fixed. but not retroactively...if you have a broken map, it stays broken.

I found two maps and didn't act on them, but I found a chest that had been found by two other people. So you know, I killed them and took it because...nuts to them.

Treasure map X, I found last night, awesome moment when I found the treasure. The place it was located was simply awesome. Won't spoil it though. Go find it yourself.

Are the treasure chests leveled? I would imagine so. But are they leveled as soon as you acquire the treasure map, or is it when you actually open the chest? I have not attempted to search for any yet, due to being at a low level.
