Forbidden Legend - Found My Red Nirnroot Quest <.<

OMFG, may Talos strike my hand from my wrist if I pick that book up on future characters. :banghead:

Now, I think this quest was not in the Miscellaneous log so is it mandatory for Main Story line? :\

Forbidden Legend is for the Gauldur Amulet. (+30 to all stats)

Red Nirnroots are a collection quest with a nice reward for alchemists.

I was referring to the annoyance level of the quest that is apparently in Oblivion. :P

If Forbidden Legend isn't required for the main story then it was a colossal waste of my time.

Many people appear to have been annoyed by Oblivion's Nirnroot quest, but I loved it. I would have been picking Nirnroots anyway, I might as well be doing it for a quest.

I didn't do Skyrim's Nirnroots quest, though. I heartily disliked Blackreach and couldn't wait to clear out of that place. That quest is going to be sitting in my character's journal, unable to be cancelled or abandoned (thank you, Bethesda) until the end of time.

Red nirnroot only grows in Skyrim, and was completely unknown in the time of the Oblivion crisis. It only came about due to the events of the Red Year, as an adaptation of the nirnroot plant in order to survive.

There are four kinds of quests in the game.
1) Main quests: These are part of the main storyline which results in Alduin's eventual demise.
2) Civil War: these result in a unified Skyrim, either under the Empire or the Stormcloaks
3) Side quests: Named quests that aren't part of the previous two categories.
4) Miscellaneous quests: unnamed quests that are grouped into Miscellaneous. Some of these may count as side quests for the purpose of achievements, or can lead to a quest of any of the other three types.

Oooo, I haven't come across that one yet - only did the one for the Black-Briar chick. What's the name of the Blackreach one so I can research it before I come across it. :P

The Nirnroot quest in Oblivion sounds like the Brains quest in Jakob's Cove in Borderlands.
