Mehrunes Dagon Shrine Respawn and other Daedric Inquires

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:59 pm

I read somewhere (wikia probably) that 4 mobs that drop Daedra Hearts should respawn there every game week - 2 outside and 2 inside. So far I believe I've gotten 8 Hearts (4 from the quest) and then 2 inside only at 2 other times. On my 4th attempt(s) it's been longer than a game week and there are no more mobs showing up there. The Mystic Dawn pawn's body is still outside if that's of any consequence - well-preserved due to the cold I'm guessing. XD

Also, WTF are the Daedra? I've read bits and pieces and the 2 friends I know who've been following the TES series for a couple of revs can't give me a straight answer. :|

Of the only 2 types of mobs I've seen that drop the hearts one appears to be a humanoid and the other some kind of Shade Knight. Are the Daedra humanoids or some kind of Shadow/Shade/Spectre that is summoned?

If they're humanoids, are they a race or a cult/faction?

As for the Daedric Princes: are they gods, demi-gods, demons, evil heroes or what?

Daedra are sort of demon like creatures that live on alternate planes in oblivion; they are not good or evil, they merely have different moralities than mortals do. Daedra are humanoid esque, but they themselves are not human. They are a race and a faction.

As for the Daedric princes... think of them as lesser gods that indirectly act on the mortal world or directly act upon it when they choose to do so. They are both good and bad, with an example being Azura as the Prince of Light (if I recall correctly) and Mehrunes Dagon as the Prince of Destruction.

Daedra is a term used for beings who come from the other plane of existence. Those black skinned dudes with red markings are Dremora, a race of daedra.

OK, cool, I think I've got it now. Thanks, y'all.

No one knows about the respawn of the Shrine? :\

You didn't actually ask a question about it.

According to the wiki, the Dremora respawn every seven days, along with all the treasure. Every now and then, they glitch and stop respawning though, no idea how to fix it.

I think if you visit a spot to early it won't resest. I find this to be true of all areas that i use to store things that i don't own. Like, when I choose to live in a cave or camp and store things there, they never disapear aslong as i come back every few days. All my items are still there 827 saves later and nothing has resest around it.

So they stop respawning permanently or just take longer? :\

I think I have enough hearts for a full set and a few weapons and I know I can buy them, but it's cooler to 'gather' the mats myself so I can say, "Yeah, that's right: I killed the Motherf*****s, to make this $***. What?!".

Edit: Seriously, Bethesda? You censor an "s" and 3 asterisks? WTF is the date of birth inquiry for? :o

Update: I've been stubbornly returning to the Shrine hoping to find Daedras (Daedrae?) and have yet to find any, but interestingly, when I went the last time, all of the 'things' had respawned (ingots, soul gems, etc) so maybe I'll have to wait a little longer. :P
