Hope a DLC adds stuff for treehugging characters

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 10:04 pm

I feel that the nature-loving characters (druids, rangers, shamans, etc.) got the short end of the stick in Skyrim. No combat staves or spears, no faction that suits them (a druid grove would be awesome), and the unique leather is all made for thieves. I think it would be awesome if a DLC plugged this hole. I really want to play a druid but he'd just be a mage in leather. I want a druid that can club monsters over the head with a staff, supported by elemental summons and restoration.

What do you think?

You can go to the Eldergleam Sanctuary and meditate there. The forsworn armor looks very druid/shaman. :) But that treehugger faction idea sounds interesting... didn't even Fallout 3 have one such thing, those people in the cave worshipping the mutated tree? Can't remember their name.

Considering questlines for Thieves, DB, Companions and College are incredibly short, I deduce that what you complain about is normal in the eyes of Bethesda (or in the eyes or whomever made them rush this game).

But I agree with you.

A treehugger faction would be great, the more roleplay options the better. A religious faction too please, for those of us who play paladins/priests/monks/crusaders.

You already have a religious faction. Stormcloaks.

Spoiler
They're extremist zealot terrorists who worship Talos.

Yes, that is also needed, but it would be harder to pull off due to the multitude of different religious beliefs.

Hardly the same thing :P. They're a group of rebels who just happen to worship Talos, but they are not driven by their religion (I don't think anyway).

Morrowind did this nicely with the imperial Cult, and Oblivion with the Knights of the Nine.

I agree. Besides that, they wouldn't offer much from a religious point of view for a priest of Stendarr for example.

Saviour's hide looks pretty druidy, add to that forsworn boots and gloves, and maybe stormcloak officer bear helmet and you have yourself a druid. You could even roleplay a shapechanger if you choose to be a werewolf yourself, and you can use the quest area for the Saviour's hide as your hangout as well. Conjuration gets you a nice ghost wolf for a druid pet, isn't the best option but it's better than nothing. I guess for damage you'd need to be a stealth archer. Maybe use Forsworn weapons as well since those are the least metallic weapons in game I can think of.
