Follower bug?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:40 pm

Hey could somebody please help me!
I've got all the skyrim achiefments except one and that is the one with the 15 artifacts. I have never used a follower but now i need a follower to sacrifice for the Boethiahs calling quest.

Now every person where i talk to says : Looks like you already got somebody with you or something like that but i don't have a follower. I've waited for a couple of days and looked in my house but my follower is nowhere.

Is this a bug? and if so is there something i can do to complete this quest anyway?

Okay, since you already tried waiting, I see these possibilities:

1. Fast travel somewhere. If they follower doesn't show up, it's most likely a bug.
2. Are you by any chance a member of the Companions? There's a certain quest when they force a follower on you, Proving Honor IIRC.
3. If you're not a Companion, you can try becoming one. This forced follower will automatically remove your current one, and after the quest he will leave as well. Or you can just sacrifice him.
4. If none of the above apply and you're on PC, there's a console command to fix this problem: set PlayerFollowerCount to 0

Please do not post Spoilers in General.

People come to General to learn about the game without learning about what happens in the game. If they want to know about what happens, that is what the Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section is for.

Do not use quest details or location specific details related to quests/puzzles/NPCs in your posts in this section. General is for discussing gameplay and mechanics and general topics about the the game including but not limited to races, items and their use, magic, enchanting, skills, character builds, criticism, praise, funny random things that happen, places from an esthetic standpoint and and other general topics.

Use the Spoilers Section if you have to post quest details or other spoilers or a thread about the same. I will move this now.

So you haven't found your follower? I think it takes 30 game days for the follower to give up and go home. Never tried it myself, though. BTW, here's my http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1329725-followers-can-die/page__p__20001778__fromsearch__1#entry20001778.
