I saw Parthanex and got the quest for the elder scrolls but the graybeards won't say and I get no options to ask at the Mage collage. Where do I find these?

Sorry, didn't mean to hurt anyone's game, but I already had to restart over some glitchs and I am afraid that has happened again. If this is a normal part of the game I'll just play through it. Thanks for answering even though it's not much help.

ok, what exactly does your quest log say?

It says ask lore master at collage of mages or optional speak to Aignar. History, I palyed to level 58, had this quest and was sent to a cave north of winterhold. The game locked up and would not let enter anywhere without just turning blue and blank or freezing up so I started over, I went to the cave before doing the dragon quest and completed the quest he sent me on so now I am level 61 but cannot get a dialog line on the subject at the mages collage.

In the college go into the main buidling, then you need to go and talk to the orc in the library. He gives you two books about the Elder scrolls, read them, talk to him again and he should put you onto the next part of the quest. Im not sure if this will help but with mine I just went to him straight away as i had run into him at the college before when completing that questline so I assumed he knew

Or You could try talking to the main greybeard guy, forgot his name, begins with A looool, on mine the others never say anything apart from him

I tried talking to the Graybeard and the orc at the collage but the graybeard only said I shouldn't kill dragons and the Orc will not give me a dialog box having anything to do with the elder scrolls and i followed every conversation option with him. I went to both several times, tried to pick-pocket the orc to get keys and attacked both of them. None of that got me any instructions about the elder scrolls. I have a save from 15 hours ago so I guess I could replay without visiting that cave but I sure would like to avoid that.
