It isn't. Unless you enjoyed the way vampirism worked in Oblivion.

I don't know if you can switch. I do know that you can go from a joke vampire to werewolf, though.

Yes, it's worth it to be a Vampire. I'm having a blast at it.

No, if you are a Werewolf then you are 100% immune to disease, therefore you can't catch the disease to become a Vampire. You'll have to cure your Lycanthropy cured first.

I'd rather be a "joke" Vampire than a castrated puppy. Being a Werewolf is useful until you hit level 15. After that, you become astoundingly weak compared to the enemies that you face. It won't be worth it to even bother shifting after that.

Lycanthropy is trash compared to Vampirism.

Yes, also having a blast with my vampire. I created four characters and my vampire has been the latest build I made... I am so surprised to know how amazing this build is, it isn't overpowered at all, just so fun. Being a vampire in Skyrim is a lot better than it was in Oblivion. You can complete the game being on, that's a huge plus, and Illusion + Sneak is so much WIN, if you add some Conjuration or any other ability to the mix.

I'd strongly recommend start a vampire from level 1 onwards, your character grows with you and it's SO fun

Depends. For a sneaky build it′s great. Sneak combines well with the Illusion tricks, so this is another benefit. For all other builds, especially the warriors, it′s pretty useless imho.

But it has no major drawbacks as well. Feeding every few days is easy to manage and the weakness to fire is no big deal unless you face a fire dragon with -75% resistance. The frost resistance is very nice for all Draugr tombs.

I always wondered what an orc would look like as a vampire. Anyone with screenshot?

Anyone that can point me in the right direction to becoming a vamp?
Like, shortest way from escaping Helgen to becoming a blood svcker?

Can't really say that I have even encountered a vamp on my other saves, anywhere they hide always? Like a set spawn point maybe?

Wanna try out the vamp things now, so much to do in this game, everytime I find a new thing I forget the ten things I'm already supposed to be doing. :P
Cheers.

Not the shortest route from Helgen, but the court wizard in Solitude should have a quest to clear out a vampire nest.

There's Broken Fang Cave west of Whiterun.

From Helgen head to the Lady Stone. Then head north west looking for the gap in the mountains which, continuing north will have you descend onto Bloated Mans Grotto (Containing several Bears and a good unique sword). Continue North/North West. Broken Fang is the only Cave marker in this direction. Head in, down the stairs and you'll see a Vamp sat to the left. Let he/she drain you with their unique spell until you see the contracted notification and then run.

Awesome, thanks guys!

Does the disease have to be casted onto me? or like Oblivion where there is a % chance of getting it from every attack?

Not worth it, the penalties are simply too large unless you're willing to play only at night. Which would be super annoying considering how fast the time flies in Skyrim.

Purely your opinion, not fact. There are more people posting in this thread who like Vampirism. Frankly, I have zero problem playing my Vampire whether it's Day or Night in my game. Doesn't affect me a bit. It's called strategy. Once a Vampire, it seems obvious that you have to slightly change your style of play. They don't run quite the same as a normal character.

There is a shorter route to Vampirism. From Helgen, take the road due East. You'll pass a Stormcloak camp (camp will be on your left), and after a short trip through a winding mountain pass, you'll pass Haemar's Shame (you'll walk right by it as a matter of fact). Go in there, and you'll find plenty of Vampires ready and willing to turn you into an Immortal.

Hope this helps.

i love being a vamp it adds more of a challenge and is very fun to me. i can however understand why people dont but again thats opinion and probably for the drawbacks, drawbacks arent bad they add a challenge.
