There's no "Fus Ru Da" ....

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 10:29 am

The button 'z' is my "shout" key, and i mostly use the push shout, but i have never heard
my character say the 3 words. When my Orc uses the shout, it sounds more like a burp
or puke, then it sounds like Fus Ru Da....

And yes, i have the full phrase from the Greybeards, and yes, i do hold in the key until
its fully loaded and auto-shouts.

I've never paid much attention to the shouts really. Each one seems to be a different sort of 'whOOOshdah!!" sound. Except for the one that reminds me of the squeeky voice in the intro of the original bomberman that shouts 'baiii.. hudson!"

Sorry for the utterly unhelplfull comment.

If I concentrate really hard, I can pick out my Orc's words when he shouts. Otherwise, he just reminds me of the vocalists from the death metal bands I like.

Well, it IS though, for some race/gender combos. My Dark Elf Female shouts it distinctly. There's a pause between "Fus" and "Ro Dah" (same deal with the other shouts I've learned, even "Oh" and "Da Viing") but otherwise it's clear and distinct.

Fus Ro Dah doesn't ever disarm. That's a different shout entirely, one which is known to some Draugr by default (and when facing an unarmed opponent, those same enemies use Fus Ro Dah instead), typically, as you said, Deathlords, but I've also seen Draugr Scourge use it.

It sort of annoys me that my breton says "Fuuuus Ro Daah!" instead of just "Fus Ro Dah!" really quickly. And in whirlwind sprint, he says Wuld and sprints but he doesn't say Nah until he's done it.

I know that but they still shout the words "fus ro dah" even though it's a draugr unique shout...sometimes they just say fus but that could be because i attack them mid sentence

That's just the Orcs' voice. Fus is distinguishable, but ro dah are merged and sound really weird. Same with Khajiit, their Fus ro dah sounds like a sneeze

That's how Wulfgar does it when he's demonstrating it at the High Hrothgar... the last syllable is at the end, like a "stop." lol

Seeing as the whole idea of whirlwind sprint is instant speed it would be lame if they didn't do it this way. Imagine you're at 20% health and being chased by something mean. You decide to sprint the hell out of there. You shout "Wuld Naaaah!" and then you go "Awww man, I'm dead? This shout svcks. It's way to slow". Or something to that effect. ;)

I usually say Fus Ru and I see the player character perform the shout. Then 10 seconds later I finally hear that Da.

I always wondered what if the Dragonborn had a lisp. But on topic I've never played as an Orc but from the way they talk I can imagine them doing shouts would sound wierd.

It's not a Draugr unique shout, the player can learn it too. "Zun Haal Viik" are the words - "Weapon Hand Defeat". I find that a lot of the shouts, regardless of their words, sound a lot like Fus Ro Dah especially in a combat situation. With subtitles enabled you can see that they're using different words.

My Push-shout sounds more like 'Hru da' the 'fuz Ru Da' and that in unacceptable.

Please look into this devs.

It does NOT sound like this, and this is what it is suppose to be like.

I require an answer to this.

Why aren't some of us getting the correct shouts?.

Because different races sound different, and most aren't clearly enunciating syllables, like the 20 people in the thread already answered?
