Okay, so I can understand my warrior, Alienne, getting one of these... I've been trying, you know? So far no luck, but every Thalmor must die for the sake of her Skyrim brothers - after all, she had enough crap to deal with back in Hammerfell. So I can so totally see her getting one.

What I can't see, however, is my mage, Marida, getting one. Why? Because I've played her with the mindset of "For the glory of the Aldmeri Dominion!". I've gone out of my way to gain their favor! I really don't undertand this... why is it that when I try and be a good Aldmeri Altmer I get told to die, but my Thalmorbane Redguard gets a free pass?

Cause somewhere somehow you managed to do something that pissed off the Thalmor... So now they want you dead.

But that makes no sense. I've done everything carefully to make sure I stay in their favor.

Yet my Redguard, who kills every Thalmor she sees, is apparently still on friendly terms with them. I dont' get this.

The thing is, just being the Dragonborn is enough for them to want kill you. Because you being Dragonborn means that Akatosh disapproves of the Dominion's master plan

There are certain quests in the game that trigger these events. Perhaps you have not done them yet.

No, I've not even done Bleak Falls Barrow. No killing dragons, no absorbing souls, none of that. I've not even finished the Mage's Guild questline, so I've not ticked them off because of that yet either.

I really have no idea why I just got attacked on the side of the road by these guys, especially when I'd rather join them with this character. I understand that some quests will trigger it - I've not done them though.

Is it just a level thing? After a certain level there's a chance the order is given or something?

Wait... The Thalmor need a reason to want you dead?

They always seem to have wanted me dead on every character I ever been, I just assumed that they was carrying out their holocaust. Damn Nazi's.

I doubt the Thalmor see it that way, as they would have no reason to do so. Also you appearing with these powers has nothing to do with the Thalmor it has to do only with Alduin.



I thought they need a reason, could be wrong. But not every character I had got hunted down by them, only those that actually pissed them off with something. Maybe it was just pure luck though.

Keep thy friends close, thy enemies closer? Maybe Thalmor like there cliches?

And I was hoping to join them with this character should a "Join the Thalmor" mod come out... oh well. This svcks, this really does.

Which way did you go with the Reguard lady in Whiterun? That's the only thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned.

Personally, I added "because revealing your connection to us if you got captured would be just as stupid as you not destroying this letter after reading it or me signing my name to the end of it." Then I mentally added a name at the end and imagine they've been cursed to do horribly stupid things in a very blatant manner.

On top of the quests that trigger these, sometimes it's just a random encounter. A rare one, granted, but sometimes instead of a thief trying to mug you, you get a Thalmor hit squad.

@Drachasor: I actually haven't done that one yet. You can't start it until you get your first shout, so...

Maybe one Thalmor person sees you as a threat to their position, and its more a personal vendetta then anything else.
If no other Thalmor attack you on site, I'd think you'd be ok if such a mod came out.
Its not as if other organizations don't turn a blind eye to whats happened in the past anyhow.

Except he had an order... which makes me think they're all gonna attack me on sight now... I turned in that one guy for keeping with the Talos worship, so you'd think there'd at least be that in my favor... But no...

I've taken out three of those hit squads so far. It's had no effect on any other Thalmor I've come across.

I actually think this happens when you just ignore the main quest for a long time. The only times I ever had a Thalmor hit squad with that order in one of the Justiciar's invetory was the few characters who completely ignored the main quest.

Well, Akatosh blessing a mortal with dragon blood (or soul or whatever) means that he doesn't want Alduin to end the world. And i doubt he wants to save it just for the Dominion to end it.
