It depends on the situation. If I'm by myself in an open landscape I'd like some type of ambient echo that captures the desolation. If I'm in intense combat pounding away at guys with a shotgun, I'd like some double-bass pedal drums and some great chugging to capture the intensity.

NIN.

I.D have worked with Trent Reznor on at least two occasions, although I think most of the work he did for Doom 3 was scrapped. No one builds tension like T.R

Industrial and Ambient. Industrial in towns, encampments, enemy strongholds and maybe at night or in certain areas while just wandering out in the open. Ambient just for exploring at any time of the day.

Nomadic Ambient, and Industrial of any kind as long as it fits the area.

There is going to be night time, on this id tech 5 engine? Please confirm!!!! :sadvaultboy:

Sorry, man. I have no idea whether there will be or not. I'm just breaking down the music by section, trying to give a better layout of what I'd like to see.

Something tells me there just might be a night time. It makes sense there would be. Pretty much every open ended game has one. Just gonna have to wait and see.

dood, industrial owns butts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm naturally a fan of ambient music, but the good type...however I can describe the good type, that is, hehe :turtle:

Well, any type of ambient that doesn't sound like You're floating in space forever and ever, is good by Me hehe :whistling:

Yeah, only some ambient works. It has to be environmental, hence the reason why I said Nomadic Ambient. You heard of Front Line Assembly?

They've done a few ambient side projects, one that comes to mind would be Synaesthesia on the album Ephemeral there were two tracks that sound like they could be used in something like RAGE. The tracks "Nomads" and "Wasteland".

I'd like to hear music which is similar to that in the Book of Eli, an epic movie with epic music.

Let Bill Laswell do the music. He will use Buckethead well and his dub and ambient are as good as it gets.

Do you mean BYOB by System of a Down?

Personally, I would find all that yelling to be a little bit distracting.

Personally, I hope they do not use real world music in this game, because I do not like any of the bands anybody listed in this thread. I would go as far as saying I hate most of 'em.

The music I like the most is hardcoe punk. :chaos: Stuff Like Discharge, G.B.H, and Amebix, but I think it would ruin the game's over all appeal to everybody if that music was to be used. In other words, it would be narrow minded and selfish of me to hope that they used only the music I liked, because most people think it is crap. :swear: Even most of the "punk" bands most people like, others dislike. You get me?

I would settle for a classical style score, as much as I hate to say it here, in the vein of Fallout 3's music. I thought it was great. :fallout:

Heavy Metal.

Pretty much because of the game's name.

You can clearly here the game's music in some of the new footage and it sounds pretty good. A classical score like I said earlier.

This game just needs 'Going Out West' by Tom Waits to be playing constantly in the background. That is all.
