TES DLCs - What are they like?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:42 pm

Sorry, never played a game from Bethesda before, what are their DLCs like?
Do they usually release expansions?
What else can I expect?

I read this post about wishing items will transfer to DLCs.. What??
I've only played Dragon Age I & II, so are they just basically like that where DLC can be done anytime during MQ, etc?
Just wanna know more about Bethesda and their records etc really, cant find articles about this on wiki..

So far, the TES expansions have been roughly equivalent to Dragon Age: Awakening in length/breadth. Not like the smaller DLCs Bioware has released. edit: Afaik, some of have been integrated into the main game, yes.

Bethesda's DLCs usually run longer than most other studios games. Most of their DLCs can generally be played no matter what progress you've made on MQ, or other side quests.

I, of course, exclude horse armour from that statement.

This is kinda sad, but now that I think about it, Bethesda was before their time with that one. Every charges for "horse armor" (or it's equivalent) now.

True, they have said it was an mistake and if they had released something like fighter stronghold first it would not been as many complains.

Regarding DLC size, fist they was talking about something like Fallout 3 sized DLC, perhaps 8 hours of play an new area, either a city or an small hold.
Later they said they wanted larger ones, probably not as large as SI but something betwen Point lookout and SI.
