Dead Thralls. They also have the benefit of not turning to dust when they die, so you can reanimate them over and over.
Also, you are in the wrong forum. You want Cheats, Hints and Spoilers (which should really be renamed to something nicer).

I got it and I chuckled. :)

Yep, Dead Thrall is awesome. Your minions can even carry loot. Of course you have to temporarily release them from service to access their inventory.

Definetly a good skill to have with companions. That way if they die during a battle, you can turn Lydia into a Thrall......... Muwhahahaha

You heard rumors? Really? There's this amazing invention called the Internet. There two (!!) Wikis for Elder Scrolls games. They pretty well cover this stuff. Might wanna check it out.

You can summon an undead thrall. They will stay with you and not fade away.

Yeah, its weird, in your active effects list it shows it as hours in the 20,000 range as I recall. check... 999 x 24 = 23976

I like the idea of thralls but I've always gotten annoyed at their undead groans. Are there any thralls that are silent?

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Thrall
there are a list of a few dead thralls who do not groan, but instead continue to say the same things they did in real life: like ancano or cicero :D

Undead Thralls are better than live humans/orcs/elves. You can get that perk giving extra hp to anyone you resurrect.

The highest level Undead Thralls you can have are Volkihar Vampires (Level 48), however you can only resurrect them if you have the necromage perk from the restoration school of magic.

The perk allows spells to be more effective on undead, and in the case of the Undead Thrall spell for conjuration it allows you to raise higher level undead humanoids, i.e. vampires.

This changes the level cap for the spell from 40 to around 50 for vampires only.

Volkihar Vampires are REALLY good.

The cast chain lightning and ice storm in one hand and absorb health in the other. Unlike most ranged classes who like to stay back, they rush in making them effective tanks.

Ranged and tanking minions who heal themselves while killing the enemy, the best of both worlds!

They are great at killing dragons at range too, since they use lightning spells which I have never seen miss, unlike other ranged classes that use projectiles.

Better still, they usually spawn with light armor, either elven or glass armor.

You can enchant and upgrade their armor, stick it back in their corpse. They will be naked at first, but once you move to a new cell, they will equip it.

Sometimes when changing from an exterior to interior cell or when reloading inside an interior cell just after leaving an exterior one. Just go back to the exterior cell and they will be there. Some cities are considered interior cells and when you fast travel your thralls may not enter, just go to the area where the stables are and they should be there.

Sometimes it is unavoidable because of some stupid quests that forcefully remove them. So don't get too attached to a corpse.

Typically though, you don't want to give thralls unique equipment like daedric rewards and such. You can simply make better equipment anyway if you can smith and enchant.

I have a stockpile of cheap, but effective , pre-smithed, improved, enchanted weapons I have crafted as well as a bunch of atronach summoning staves I made at the atronach forge. I just travel there and stick them on my thralls' corpses if I get a new thrall I like.

Hunting down and equipping thralls is really rewarding for me. I love how Bethesda implemented this.

I just hope they work on some of the issues, this has got to be the best necromancy of any game I have ever played.

Yup, and it's a pretty good spell as well, I just wish it would work on some animals as well.

Cool suggestion for any necromancers, the werewolves in Silver Hand lairs can be raised and they are cool thralls

I suppose if you used the master conjuration spell http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Thrall and then customize your new Thrall with decent armour, you could achieve what you want.
