Ok, where or who do you lie to and get them to tough the altar?

Yeah, it has to be a "follower". You can't just get any NPC to 'follow' you like in Fable II (or hold their hand in Fable III). One of the wikis recommends you get one of the mercenary types (paid followers as opposed to "friend" followers) from one of the inns.

This, just use a bought follower for all your Skyrim sacrificial needs.

Or Sven. Or Faendal. The both of them are pretty sleazy, and less likable than all of the mercs i've met.

Faendal is too? I've only played one character and Sven was the one with the fake letter. Does Faendal do something unethical if you choose different dialogue options? :o

They both do the fake letter, it depends on who you talk to first.

Ah. Now I feel less badly that Faendal was killed by a dragon with curved teeth...curved...teeth.

Quick pop-in question here... do you have to be a certain LV to even do the quest?

I keep FT'ing to her Shrine and NOBODY is there. No followers, no ONE! -.O

Do you have to be a certain LV? I've never had this happen b4...

Don't think it's really that bad, it matters if you find out he was a good or bad person.

The Ebony Blade I heard does not really work, which fits into the lore with people slaughtering their friends and family because of the promise of a powerful weapon. :)

By the time I got to this quest in the game I was getting mighty sick of Lydia and her "I am sworn to carry your burden" tone. Such an attitude. Boethia took care of THAT.

After hearing that same thing three hundred times in a row, I snapped and led her to Boetheia's altar and continued to slash over and over again. I even slashed Boethia when she was in Lydia's body.

The person I sacrificed for this quest was Erik the slayer. I found him in Rorikstead, I convinced his father to let him become a mercenary and I bought him armor. He owed me :)

Is there a loophole to clear the quest without sacrificing someone?

I looked it up before I started the quest, but a f-ing Ice Troll attacked while I was killing the last cult member so I had to exit the Conduit's dialogue because the Troll kept whaling on me. <_<
