Is there any way to keep the Skeleton Key, and still become head of the Thieves Guild?

If there is a question here, it is someone asking for a "spoiler" specifically. It's redundant to hide spoilers in a group where people are asking for spoilers. Keep the Skeleton Key until you get your unbreakable pick. Then finish the Thieve's Guild stuff.
