Where's my wife?!

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 4:03 pm

So, I did it, I finally got married, but before I could even have a sqweeze she head out an left me! Treacherous woman...

....then it could also be a bug.

Thing is I don't know if it's me, maybe I'm simply daft or something, but I can't find Mjoll the Lioness after I married her. Everything went bugfree (for once) until the ceremony was done and she simply went out the temple door and vanished - now I can't find her anywhere. O_o

Anyone know where I should look?

She turned into a lion. Then an old orc killed her.

I'm so sorry :cry:

It was Brelyna's fault. She was practising that spell of hers again....

Do you know Mjoll the Lioness's original home? She may be there.

It's so funny when, right after you say, "I do", your spouse walks straight out the door while Maramal is still speaking the ending lines. I had to reload after my characters wedding and do it over, because she disappeared after leaving the building and I couldn't find her.

I don't know, actually, but I think she lived with her (former boy-)friend Aerin... But none of them are there either! O_o

That's exactly what happened! And I've reloaded, done it all over again and everything, but after the ceremony she's just...gone! Vanished! Wtf?!

When I married Ysolda the same thing happened. I went back to Whiterun and she wasn't there either. After a day or two of in-game time. I was back in Riften, went into the temple, and Ysolda was there holding a basket of flowers and talking about meeting later for our wedding night.

Perhaps leaving and reentering the temple fixed it. Or possibly the passage of time fixed it.

I hope you find her!!

I finally caught up to my wife by skipping the last lines of dialogue (on PC, you'll skip through dialogue more quickly by clicking the LMB). Then you can tell her which house to go to and she'll show up there eventually.

I've read about some bugs wherein they can be randomly killed traveling back to their home or the marital home or wherein they literally get stuck on an obstacle and can be found walking against a rock (or maybe that was some quest during which you're supposed to follow an NPC to a quest destination). Like others have mentioned she may appear after a few game days. I made sure to speak to mine before she left the Temple. It's a shame that we have to read walk-throughs and see spoilers so we can prevent bugs. <_<

as soon as you are married exit from the conversation with the priest of mara.

then talk to your spouse about where to live. this worked everytime for me.

@theKarnage

Just married Sylgja and the steps you mentioned worked perfectly. Thank you!!

@Bethesda

If anyone sees this, the script needs to be edited so the spouse doesn't walk out of the temple when the priest is still talking. The spouse should wait until the priest is done and then start a conversation with the player. Also, it would be nice if the npc's who come to the ceremony wait in the temple until you speak to each of them.

After getting hitched just wait a week or two ingame, then go back to the Temple. She's be waiting for you.

Dude,,, i married to Mjoll, Alea, Ysolda and that problem always on dude...

but the solution is not the reload the save...

but... wait 1-->3 days and go back to that temple where you married, and your Wife / Husband will be in that place asking you where do you want to live with her/him

after answer *my house for example* she / he will go to your house and always be there

if go to the temple didn't work, try to wait 3 days, go back to the temple, and wait 1 hour at that temple

if still doesn't work... well.. reload it :D

I never lose my wife anyway...

Check your home, maybe there is a notes that said

"I used to be a husband to you, until i took an arrow in the knee"
