Alduin's Wall and Choosing a Side in the Civil War

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:50 pm

The questions are relatively unrelated, but I only need short answers so I didn't see the need for 2 threads. :P

When I go to Sky Haven Temple is that the Alduin fight?

Do you have to choose a side in the civil war? Can you 'unify' Skyrim (for lack of a better word :P )?

I don't need long answers - I'm just curious about the basics before I pass another point of no return.

Nope.

You can't unify Skyrim, although you can chose not to start the civil war quest line and in that case the situation never gets at worse, at least not while you're playing.

1. Nope, the story continues after Sky Haven Temple. No Alduin fight at all ;-)
2. Sry bro, but you can't unify skyrim.
Spoiler
There is a temporary truce at one point of the main quest but after you finish it, the truce ends. If you want to end the civil war, you have to choose one side or the other and help them win the war.

You're only about 2/3 or less through the main quest .
When the "OMG is this really happening " moment happens , get your gear in order cuz you're not coming back till it's over

Yeah, I didn't think I was too far along in the MQ, but when I saw "Alduin's Wall" I got apprehensive. :P

I didn't think we could unify Skyrim, but I had to ask. If I don't choose a side are there quests related to that or is like the game is unfinished?

When the OMG moment occurs and we can't return until it's done do we get warned (like the expansions in Fallout 3)?

Sort of... it is not said explicitly, but when someone says that the only way to defeat Alduin is by going somewhere and only he can take you there... that's it. You are in it till the end.

You will enjoy the ending, trust me.

The final area you go to is pretty awesome , I wish you could go there more than once . Maybe some dlc will take us back there .

Maybe, I'll set it up to record before I go. :P

I would've liked to have been able to return to the Operation Anchorage area in Fallout 3...or could we? I was afraid to check and just assumed we couldn't.

Bring arrows... if you use them. There's no merchants.

I use them a little bit, but, yeah, I'll have plenty - thanks for the warning.
