GiantCompanions

When you first walk by the farm with the giant fighting the companions, when they defeat the giant one of them walks towards you for conversation and invites you to try and join the faction. My question, can you avoid the conversation? or will that person try to follow you everywhere you go?

I'm just very OCD and i know i don't want to join that faction and i kind of don't want the mis. quest in my journal :s Any answers people?

I guess if you stay clear, allow them to kill the giant, they will most likely walk away back to town. You may end up getting that quest just by talking to people in town about Jorvaskrr as well. If they start talking to you just tab (PC) out before they can go any further.

The Faction Intro Quests are pretty much impossible to avoid. You would almost have to not talk to anyone in a town to avoid those. My Companion, Thieves and DB Intro quests showed up in my Journal the first day of playing. And, they are still there waiting for me.

I avoid them every time; the first time was the only time they caught me and stuck the quest in my jouranl because I went up into the field. I just stay on the road and keep walking and they don't get near me. Usually they are still fighting the giant when I first arrive and I need to slow down and watch to see them kill it. Also, don't ask too many questions about Whiterun IN Whiterun or you'll get the quest stuck in the journal there as well.

Yeah, the first time I played through I just found a random giant on the floor. Slightly odd, to say the least, until someone told me it was from the Companions... So I guess it's possible to avoid that conversation.

the thieves guild is the worse one.. i can't even talk to the argonian in the town square without that idiot asking me to listen to his scheme and it gets stuck in my misc. quest and pisses me off. lol. and even the main quest trys to push you to talk to him at some point... my character doesn't like thieves, and i wish you could kill them, like that other faction you get the opportunity to..

but about companions, yea you can just sprint pass them, they won't follow you.
