a clue to our past?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 7:33 pm

hey everybody,

ok well i have been toying with this thread for about a week, i couldnt decide if i should post this epic thing or let people find it out themselves,

only people who listen to npcs, and i mean really listen will ever find this out for themselsves

here it is.

in riften , go to the bee and barb and sit by the bar ( or this is what i did) , continue to wait until at some point a guy called somehting like maynlyn dreath ( yes i said dreath- irng any bells ? ;) ) will come and sit on the other stool, of cource even seeing that name i was amazed, he even looks like valen dreath, dark elf, grey hair, getting on.

anyway, eventually he will make ocnversation with the argonian barmaid, and this is how the conversation goes ( this is very rough but is how i remebered it)

" hey (barmaid) , did i tell you the tale about the guy who i met in the imperial prison, he killed 6 imperial guards before they could take ihm away!"
" yeah, was this before or after he single handedly wiped out the mythic dawn?"

this is quite rough, but i swear to talos what he actually says, i was so surprised that i was sat there for a minuite just blankley stareing as he calmley drank out of his tankard.

is this really the valen dreath of OB, did he come to skyrim spreading the tale of the ocnvict he once hated so much?

this is i think probabley the one piece of evidence as to what happended before the chracter was in prison.

if you dont htink this is true, go to the bee and barb, wait and eventually he will turn up, if you still dont belive me then just keep on waiting, eventually he will say this.

He's a descendent of Valen Dreth, not the man himself.

he is an elf, i think the oldest one is something like 4000 htousand years old- so actually its very possible that he could be alive

you have to remember elves live far logner than human races, 90 for a human is very old but for them its like early twenties....

4000+ is by no means the norm. That's one guy, Divayth Fyr, whose probably only succeeded by a handful of Altmeri wizards. 500 is even still very old for a Dunmer, and not normally how long you could expect someone to live. Barenziah only got there from being royalty her whole life. I doubt Valen Dreth would live a day more than 250, and he was already old when we met him in the jail cell.

Plus, canonically, let's not forget Valen Dreth died in that very cell.

It's cool to see that there's a reference to him in Skyrim. I wasn't aware of that!

Yep, right before I single handedly wiped out the Mythic Dawn.

Try and find the book in the game called "The Oblivion Crisis". If this makes you [censored] bricks, then wait till you read that book.

Yes - I heard this same conversation. And I wasn't even waiting - I just went into the Bee and Barb to do a quest involving Sapphire.

NOTE: to all of those who say you killed valen dreath in his cell, i dont think you can prove that was actual offcial lore, and if you heard the conversation between him and the jailer he says hes gonna be rich and famous in summerset isle.....that went well

and ok i admit maybe it isint likley he could of lived this long, however its actually perfectly possible,

the truth is im not getting into an argument about this- i just wanted to share this with the forum community, if you dont like it then dont put in wastefull comments

As far as being "actual official lore", killing him was part of a major quest line. It doesn't get more "actual official" than that.

An optional quest line. Maybe the canon is that the Oblivion hero didn't join the DB.

this

we cant prove that the hero murdered valen, and valen seems the type who would change his name and flee the country to escape justice
