Markarth House Glitches

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:34 pm

I just bought the house in Markarth and was wondering if there were any glitches.

In both my houses in Riften and Solitude, there's glitches with the weapon racks and weapon plaques.

There are two empty weapon plaques in my house in Markarth but I'm nervous to place anything on them, has anyone had any issues?

Yes i have.. When i put things on the plaques the weapons just float in the air. Also sometimes the mannequin starts to move around.

My main house is the one in Markarth. Everything works great with the exception of the manequin. It works but the armor dissapears from sight. But I've never lost anything using the racks. And I've been using that house as my headquarters for about a month.
I just made sure everything worked properly before I saved after decorating it.

Markarth? No, never had any issues there. I used all the displays and the display cases without issues.

The house that had buggy display cases in the bedroom was my Windhlem one.

Yeah, something just isn't right with the bedroom there. I've bought the house like 10 times trying to get it unglitched. The bed seems to be too far away from the wall as well as the end tables everytime. And it looks like there's a pole sticking out of the floor behind my bed too. Weird. But the rest of the house seems fine and all my plaques and racks work fine.

Yea, because of the Blood on Ice quest. I had the whole bloody mess in my house, when I bought it. I never saw the "cleaning" option when I bought the house. I used a console command to clean the bloody mess, which got rid off the blood stains, chest and all the stuff in the alchemy/enchanting room. I never used the codes for the "remove investigation targets", so I guess that's why stuff is still buggy. The dagger cases in the bedroom just stack every dagger on top of the other and you can never take them back out! lol

I still think it's a cool house though. Hjerim has a lot of space! I like the high ceilings!

With all of the houses that I've purchased, I buy all of the furnishings at the same time after I've bought the house.

Everything -- house + furnishings all at once.

Do not buy your new house and immediately unlock and enter the door without the entire house completely furnished.

This works extremely well for Markarth in particular as it is my main place and essentially bug free.

I once put the ghost blade in one of the wall plaques and after a few trips in and out the house, the sword just disappeared and the weapon plaque was no longer selectable.

Okay, so I went to solitude and grabbed all my stuff and put all my rare/specialty items in the chest in my bedroom. I went back to solitude to collect some more things and when I got back I noticed my "wife" was sleeping in the bed, so I went to sleep also to see if I could get the bonus for being well rested with the lover bonus or whatever it is.

As soon as I woke up, I went to the chest to add some things and everything was gone. I had to reload (which I did outside due to advice on here) and the stuff was back...

It concerns me because that means I have to check everything in the house everytime I visit to make sure I don't continue playing and possibly lose my rare items.

I'm not sure how to proceed, I can't carry everything on me, and if it happened in Markarth could it happen in my Solitude house too?? **Also, as with all my houses, I always purchase all the upgrades immediately after purchasing the house**

I'm so frustrated with the game glitches, almost want to stop playing.

Before asking this question, I actually had placed my ghost blade on one of the weapon plaques also. It immediately disappeared into thin air and is gone forever. I had done so much between the time that happened and my last save so I just suffered the loss. I'm thinking on just reloading to the point before I even bought the house.
