SPOILER! I found all the ex Jarls and Stuards

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 10:37 am

So I became Thane of Solitude. Meanwhile I won the civil war as Stormcloack and got the quest to ask Belruf whats wrong with his kids. So I found him in the basemant of the Blue palace in Solitude. He was there with 15 other NCPs. All other Jarls, Housecarls and Stuards. All of them thinking they are in their positons still and he gave me the quest to speak with his son in Dragonsreach. So wierd and non logical.

On the flipside of the civil war, they all end up in Windhelm.

Much the same happens to the deposed jarls and their crew after the peace talks, too.

One or two of the NPCs still seem to think they're in their original city, but IIRC they don't hand out quests any more.

Actually, that's a time honored tradition here on Earth; though usually it's done by both sides as part of a peace agreement. Each side give their heir into the custody of the other, basically exchanging hostages to ensure good behavior. After all, Balgruuf isn't going to start anything if it can get his children killed. Heck, that's probably the only thing keeping him from marching into Whiterun and challenging Vignar.

When I go to 'visit' the deposed jarls, i get heaps of abuse - "ive imagined you dead in so many ways" "i hate to see someone who holds their honour so cheaply" "what do you want, dog?". Kinda depressing. :ermm:

If you go the Imperial route, you might spot Skald the Elder tossing himself into the fray in the Battle of Windhelm.

Not sure if any of the jarls do that in the Stormcloak climactic battle...
