It's pretty rare. I've only seen him once.

There are ALSO very minor spoilers not connected to him in the wiki. They describe what can be found at the destination. Doesn't reveal much.

Edit: To eliminate confusion, I added "also". It's pretty obvious there are spoilers related to the headless horseman since I'm linking to the wiki page about the headless horseman.

I followed him. Took me to a graveyard and then just waited around. There were locked chests (and enemies that I cleared) but I ran out of lockpicks so I don't know if I could have found something or not. Frustrating.

Doesn't reveal much? A 100% sure way to see him at least, if I understood the fast travel to ahem-ahum right.

There are spoilers connected to him in this title. This belongs in the other section.

How so? His destination is a minor non-quest related place that is not in a hidden or inaccesible part of the map and at best he is an easter egg. The link title doesn't reveal anymore than the thread title and I explained there were minor spoliers on the page I linked to which is your choice wither you wish to follow it or not.

Unless you were referring to the thread in general, then in which case, why quote my post?

I've seen him quite a bit and followed for a long way once but I've never seen him do anything except ride. :tes:

the last time I saw him he wound up jumpin in the air and landed on the side of the mountain and he kept ridin. I figure the game glitched.

Shouldn't this be in the spoiler section? I didn't even KNOW there was an NPC like this. Thanks...

FIrst time I saw him was at his destination. That place is quite clearly where he is buried, going by a few items that can be found there.

There's another ghost that does something similar. At a ruin near Morthal, you can find a ghost that just walks up into the hills where you can find what is probably his body, too.

In other words, as far as I can tell, the headless horseman is just an elaborate way to lead you to some treasure.

Because your post contained the word spoiler, and that is what the title of this thread is. Don't take it as a personal attack. I assure you it was not ment as such.

I'm kinda new to this whole forum thing so I didn't know there was a spoiler section. I'm sorry if I ruined it for you ma'am.

I've seen him once, riding around the outskirts of Whiterun late at night. Made me curious about him, too!

As far as I've seen and read, he has no background. He starts at random locations, but always rides to the same destination. You follow him there and you can find some treasure. That's all there is to him.

I came across the headless horseman about 20 hrs in on my first character, I didn't follow him because I was too involved in a quest. It would be cool if it was a dlc though.
