Small problem - Hjerim

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:59 pm

Could someone who has the bedroom chest please give me the chest ID?

Everything in the house is working fine, except the chest in the bedroom is not there...I was thinking maybe I could simply use the console and use "enable" toe enable the chest, would that work?

Also, is the bed supposed to be up against the wall? The bed in my game is a little bit away from the wall, enough to walk to the back to the weapon/shield plaque.

Thanks in advance.

As far as I'm aware there is no Chest in Hjerim once you clean up the mess.

There should be a chest, it's at the foot of the bed in the master bedroom.

if you're looking for a console command I don't know it and I'd be REALLY certain before you do it... because getting the code for the right item is tricky and finding a spot in a glitchy house to put a second one is even trickier.

PC players can find it by facing the object on your character, typing the ~ key and then hovering your mouse over the chest... trouble is you might have the end of the bed or the floor so you'll have to use some trial and error to find the right object code.

I'm not sure what to say about it not being there. Did you pay for bedroom decorations? urgh...

I don't have it either, then . :( It would make Hjerim perfect. Instead I store my weapons in the Housecarl's room.

Erm...thanks Julienne? Not exactly helpful there...I'm on pc, which is why I asked about console Id in the first place. Now, the chest inside my Hjerim is NOT there, hence I need to find someone who has the chest, go into console and click on the chest to tell me what ID it is. "Enable" command in the console should cause the chest to appear exactly where it should be, I shouldn't need to place it at all. The chest is designed to be at the foot of the bed so it shouldn't conflict with anything. I'm assuming that since it's not there right now it's just not enabled.

Also you don't need to purchase the bedroom decorations. The chest should be there as soon as you buy the house. And yes I have done the Blood on the Ice quest, I investigated all the spots during that quest. Now I have cleaned up the mess and purchased all avaialable decorations.

I'm just hoping someone has the chest and just tell me the id for it.

after deleting part of my floor and a whole wall in my search for cobweb codes and glass codes to clean up a glitched Hjerim I distrust my ability to find you the correct code and was posting instructions in case someone else trusts themselves more than I do.

I had frankly missed that you said you have everything except the chest and had to edit my post.

and there is no chest without buying the bedroom decorations. I was so anol about it that I checked at every stage of purchasing and decorating Hjerim for the second character because the first one to own it has a haunted house with cobwebs and strange crap everywhere that can't be deleted. (buy it and run all the way back to double check, save and run back and get something new or reload and run back and try again. tedious and awesome because it's such a secsy house... it took THREE loads to get the blood and glass and extra furniture upstairs out and two to get the bedroom right.)

You probably don't have the chest...otherwise it would be a simple matter of clicking on it to figure out the ID for the chest.

Anyway, people have experienced many glitches with this house, but it's actually quite simple...You need to complete Blood on the Ice quest, and also you need to get to a certain stage (depending on if you joined Stormcloakcs or Empire) to be able to purchase it. Then you simply purchase the house, then purchase decorations. Always purchase "clean up the murderer's mess" first then all the others, and then you're done. I have experienced no problems with the house (including those display cases, book shelves etc, which all seem to be working at the moment). But there are no other chests in the house besides the one at the foot of the bed, and I need that chest...it doesn't feel right to store an ebony ingot in the bedside table.

I don't have it either but I'm sure on my other account I had one infront of the bed.

Edit: And I'm on Xbox so I guess I'm screwed if Beth can't get a patch to correct this ><

From the talk page of the wiki:

After purchasing Hjerim and all of the rooms, the chest at the end of the bed was gone. This is actually my third playthrough of the entire game, and this is the first time the chest has failed to show up. I haven't done anything differently than my last two playthroughs, so I really don't know why it's not appearing. I do know the code for the chest, and I've tried to "enable" it through console commands, but everything I've tried doesn't work. The code for the chest is 000df5ac. The game aknowledges that the chest exists, and when I "moveto" it, I warp to the foot of the bed, but again, the chest is invisible.

The beth blog or Wiki (cant remeber) said this bug happens if you buy the house for less than full price, but it sounds like that's not the case here.

Also there should be a chest at the foot of the bed even if you don't buy the bedroom upgrade. Same as whiterun house. It would be useless to buy a house without a chest.

Well hope just gone out the window, it doesn't work...it seems that nothing in Hjerim can be disabled, hence the chest cannot be disabled and enabled again. It's not even invisible, it's simply there, but not there...not having a single chest in Hjerim is gonna be pretty annoying...

If you're correct then the wiki is wrong, because it lists under bedroom decorations 1 chest.

000df5ac

(shiyaoay checked it)

if I were you I'd distrust this or go into your own console and make sure I didn't get the carpet or the bed or a piece of fluff in the design.

edited to take erroneous code out before it could be used

I can confirm that the code 000df5ac is correct, as if I do player.moveto i get teleported right where the chest should be.

Problem is, there is no way to enable the chest...and I need that chest...it seems like many people do not have the chest, and it's quite disappointing really, since Hjerim is the best house in the game.

I also found a slight bug with regards to the Ebony blade. If placed on weapon plaques or weapon racks in Hjerim and I exit and re-enter the house the blade always drops to the floor. This is not so bad though since I just placed it in a display case instead. (Other weapons remain on the racks or plaques so it's the problem with the Ebony blade)
