Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 3:46 am

Hi, I have played skyrim for a while. now im lv 12. and I used to be an imperial, but I changed on the way to a redguard. but I cant upgrade my steel smithing perk ( since first time, both imperial and redguard ). and it's font is white ( not grey ). My smithing lv is 17. is this a bug, or did I do wrong ?

That's all there is. Once you've chosen the steel perk (the font goes white), the next option you get is in the second tier of perks.

So, what you meant is that I already upgraded* my perk, and because I upgraded it, it goes white. But how could I know if the perk is already Upgraded* ? and thanks for your quick reply and sorry for my newbie question

What color is the 'star'? I think you have to have Smithing at 20 to get "Steel".

Well, you said "since first time" - so I took that to mean that you have the steel perk and use it. In that case, the next perk you can choose is whatever's on the next tier (and I honestly don't know what they're called right now, as I'm not in game). Anyway, a perk in any tree that is NOT upgraded will always be grey - and when you move to it, it will tell you how many points you need in the skill to "buy" that level of the skill.

And I'm probably explaining this VERY badly, since it's late and I'm tired. With luck someone will come along shortly who can do a MUCH better job with this!

[buckom, I think you can select Steel at 15.]

I just upgraded to steel on my new toon a few minutes ago. She had smithing at 15 (which is where it is when you start) - and she put a perk point into steel at that level.
