Well.... the "wife" is still bandit faction, so yeah, "upright" townsfolk/templefolk are going to attack. Don't have a clue what you can do to fix it sorry.

sounds like you are out of luck, some things in the game are just scripted and cant be changed even with the console. I guess towns people killing bandits is one of those things.

The marriage won't last anyway...

No, really, it won't last. Most random bandits, like mobs, are prone to respawning or being despawned when out of cell for long enough; hell, the marriage AI stacks might even get loaded onto every identical bandit out there and end up with 200 respawning wives xD

Oh hey! There's a REALLY good way to sell this game in the great state of polygamy!

Do you bring your follower (housecarl) to the ceremony with you? I think I've seen in other threads that that will bug out the wedding ceremony, but I'm not sure I've heard of them being attacked.

Hmm, I got married with a follower without any problems. Wasn't to a bandit though.

i have brought a follower to my wedding. i have even had Lydia show up at my wedding when marrying my then follower Mjoll.

that should not be what messes this up.

it is probably the fact that she is a bandit.

a priest murdering a bandit is sanctioned game killing. But Lydia? Why are they attacking your house carl?

That being said, if you insist on marrying the NPCs the game doesn't consider legit, you're going to have to ditch the vanilla way of getting hitched. Just add her to your family with the console. But get a house outside the city first--preferably somewhere far away from civilization. You can get some good houses from house mods like the Drelas House or Abandoned Shack from SkyrimCentral. Then use the console to marry her and move her in there.

She is just marrying you for your gold, go find one of the female mine workers...they are better at it.
