Well it goes without saying, this has been the most frustrating thing I've happened on while playing Skyrim, because even after update 1.5 which fixed (I believe) the issue with needing Viola Giordano to progress (which I thought would have solved it for me) I still have issues with this quest. Before 1.5 I had abandoned the quest months ago when it was stuck on the prompt "Follow up on the clues from Hjerim," with the "Get assistance from Jorleif" prompt incomplete. Viola Giordano was nowhere to be found and I couldn't continue. Then came 1.5 and I rejoiced. Fruitlessly. Nothing seems to have changed, Viola is still unmarked and nowhere to be found, Calixto is essential, and now when I try to talk to Jorleif (who is marked on the map as an objective), he doesn't open any dialogue. Wuunfarth only offers training. And I was even under the impression I had finished the quest and it hadn't updated, but I guess I was wrong because blasted Calixto's still running his museum. I've investigated all clues, talked to the mortician what's her name and might've talked to Wuunfarth about it; maybe having finished the war for the imperials has affected it - now the jarl has changed and there are a lot of exiles in the HotK. I have the latest update, wondering if others have fallen under similar circumstances or the same exact ones... don't think it's fixed, and please, please do something about this headache Beth.
