Question about being wearwolf

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 6:26 pm

Is it true that if you cure your wearwolf, can you not get Vampirisom. I had heard that this was true.

Do you also go back to being able to get a disese.

Please let me know.

If you are wearing a wolf, I'd certainly take it off (cure it) soon. That thing must be full of parasites and maggots.

Heh, seriously though, curing yourself of lycanthropy will make diseases/vampirism available to you. But you cannot attain lycanthropy again.

Compared to traditional mythology about werewolves and vampires, Skyrim is kind of getting into Twilight-level rule-breaking when it comes to being either of them.

But referring to the OP, just imagine if we could become both. Like you play a Khajiit, who is a werewolf, a vampire, AND has the soul of a dragon. What the hell are you anymore by that point? :{o~

I've had the misfortune of becoming both. I became a werewolf first, through the Companions questline, of course. Now, somehow I managed to contract the vampire disease as well. Got going doing other things, not really paying attention when I should have gone and got myself cured. So my character ended up a vampire. The problem is, you cannot feed (since that function is controlled by the werewolf abilities), so you end up a stage 4 vampire with no way to correct it. So, even if it is possible, not advisable. I ended up using console commands to rid myself of vampirism.

On the whole, I find being a werewolf more entertaining, since I have some control over when I take on beast form & so on.

Yea i guess it would be a benny to stay the werewolf, but i don't really shapshift. I have a Darkelf, I don't want to get Vamp.. If you catch Vamp early can't you cure it a cure disese potion (Ive done that before, early in the game).

As I have said before, you join the companions by becoming a werewolf, but you really never have to use the ability, can complete all the quests without activating it, cure yourself at the end and still become a full member of the companions.

I was a werewolf during the Companions quests, but cured myself. It wasn't really a big deal and I didn't even use it after my initial transformation. You don't get any resting bonuses or Lover's Comfort, though.
