Spooky

Having played Skyrim now for countless hours since 11/11 I finally, for the first time, entered Shimmermist Cave all because some Whiterun guard mentioned it. I would have to say of all the places I've been in this one has been the most fun. I've got my graphic settings so I have the least amount of light one can have inside caves and the odd dark corners amidst the bright locations due to the glowing mushrooms was fanatastic. When I reached the grotto and started around corners hearing the chitter of something just out of sight I slowed to a crawl hoping to get a shot at whatever it was before it got me! Do you have a favorite cave or dungeon that's spooky? Please share! :tes:

I wish I could remember which location this is, but it was a HUGE cave, somewhat early in the game. Some of the features:

Multi level cave system, you have to use the "whirlwind sprint" at one point to get through a series of gates. There is a word wall near the end of the cave by a waterfall. Anyone have any idea what the place I'm talking about is? I thought it was pretty spooky. Probably because I kept getting lost.

Also, I'm always spooked out by all the stuff north of Winterhold, the vast open frozen ocean with random places of interest.

Blackreach is pretty creepy.

IDK if I've been to Shimmermist Cave (I have heard the Whiterun guards warn me to stay away.) - it seems like I have, but I'll have to check it out.

People keep mentioning that place and I've been close enough to it that it's 'white' on my map, but I've never happened across a quest for it. Which quest is it?

You go inside of it to trigger the quest I believe.

I believe you're referring to the location for the quest to get the horn of Jorgen Windcaller for the Greybeards.

Don't forget to walk through the waterfall and claim another treasure chest... and introduce the draugr to the pointy end of your sword.
