get yourself into a corner say inside a shop, go into sneak and just keep walking into the wall. Just as long as the eye stays closed you will level up sneak.

Sneaking increases rapidly if you do multiple Sneak dammage meaning you hit an enemy or NPC without them noticing you.

There is a nice way too train Sneak i will explain it in the spoiler section

Spoiler
Spoil

If you start the game and you followed hagvar into the empirial quarters before you take your items from
the equipment chest as quest marker.

Place yourself behind him sitting in sneakmode with or without a shortsword equiped than start hitting him
you will see your sneak skill raising skyhigh,be shure too gain the sneak attack bonus it pops up if it happens

best do this when hees faces towards the gate
.

It's pretty much the same as with Morrowind and Oblivion. Move around while sneaking without being seen by anyone (but there have to be NPCs around) and it'll slowly increase your sneak skill. And as ToxicCurves said, doing a sneak attack on enemies also helps it go up fast.

I've trained it two ways besides paying Delvin in the Ragged Flaggon in Riften for levels.

1. cast muffle on yourself and follow guards and npcs around in towns. lmao Braith is worried you might be in trouble and offers to show you her hiding place. heh

2. sneak past all draugr in dungeons and then attack one while it's sleeping... it wakes the others up and you level while they look for you

The issue with "power leveling" any single skill at once is that enemies scale with you so you take you sneak from 20 to 100. at the beginning of the game that will raise you from lvl 1 to lvl 17, I just did it using the console. The problem is the rest of your skills are now left back based on a lvl 1 character, but you will be fighting lvl 17ish NPCs in combat.

I just mention it because those that played Morrowwind and Oblivion and lvl'd sneak like this (guilty) did not feel the same effect as they will in Skyrim. Its a shame to waste the time to get to 100 in sneak only to keep getting killed due to the fact that your combat skills are not up to par.

My preferred tactic to powerlevel sneak is at the entrance of white run. There's that guard standing watch on the left hand side with a doorway behind him and some bails of hay, wedge yourself into the corner between that back wall and the bail of hay. Get yourself into sneak mode and ensure that you can walk-sneak without him detecting you. Turn on auto-walk and IRL walk away for the evening. Win. The trick is sneak will only go up if you are undetected and within what is considered visual range of a neutral NPC, ie line of sight is available but they aren't facing you etc, sneaking near but behind a wall doesn't count.

ED: Oh and I wanted to say that dormant draugr are also awesome candidates to trip the sneak check and power level that way too.

i can get training every 48 hours o.0 I thought was same system as oblion 5 times per level 0.0 this could make training so much faster ! if only i could find more dragons ...

Edit: also have 74 destruction and some fairly powerful spells with just barely enough magicka to cast them and enemies seem to die too quickly as it is ...
