Recovery from lycanthropy

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:35 am

I would like to heal from lycanthropy, but when I arrive at the blu fire (Ysgramor's Tomb) and I try to throw the witch head in the fire pushing the X button on the PS3 pad there isn't interaction and so nothing happen in the game.

Can you help me, please?

It may be prone to other bugs too, but Iv'e found if you didn't get all the Witch Heads during the quest to do so, they won't work. (If you just got one during the quest, then got the others after)

Please do not post Spoilers in General.

People come to General to learn about the game without learning about what happens in the game. If they want to know about what happens, that is what the Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section is for.

Do not use quest details or location specific details related to quests/puzzles/NPCs in your posts in this section. General is for discussing gameplay and mechanics and general topics about the the game including but not limited to races, items and their use, magic, enchanting, skills, character builds, criticism, praise, funny random things that happen, places from an esthetic standpoint and and other general topics.

Use the Spoilers Section if you have to post quest details or other spoilers or a thread about the same. I will move this now.

There are only two times you can throw a witch head in the fire and cure yourself. The first time is immediately after curing Kodlak, and for it to work at this time you have to do it before leaving the room. The second time is after you have cured both Vilkas and Farkas, and from what I've seen it's safest to do it right after you've cured the second brother (again, before leaving the room). If you try to do it at any other time, it just doesn't work.

You should still have the misc. quest "Talk to the Companions leaders for work" so go ask him for work. Usually after one or two quests he says he has a personal request, that he wants to be cured. All you have to do then is take him back to the flame and throw a head in. After you do this for the 2nd brother you can do it for yourself.

Nope. You have to complete quests to cure vampirism and lycanthropy.

they do seem to wander. if you just wait in 24 hour increments or fast travel to another city and back they should show up eventually

you can't complete their missions. they are endlessly generated. you have another option to talk to vilkas and farkas, which ends up in curing them. they don't give it you as a job.

To get them to ask to be cured you need to be carrying the heads in your inventory.

I cured myself at a different time than the initial curing of Kodlak. I have yet to cure Vilkas or Farkas.

The trick to healing yourself is going solo.

Not true - I have all the heads on me and they have yet to ask.
