Perk Setup Help

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 5:03 pm

Hey guys, I was hoping I could get some help planning out the perks for the max armor rating and crafting loop as seen in this thread:
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1333470-complete-character-design-freedom-damage-resist-caps-and-ridiculous-damage-thread-9/

In reference to Nightingale Armor and the Necromage perk.

I'm not sure how the Necromage perk effects the percentages for the crafting loop and getting armor cap for nightingale armor and really dont want to mess this playthrough up...

This is what I have planned out so far... http://skyrimcalculator.com/#74493

Nightingale Armor, Nightingale Blade, and vampirism with necromage perk

Any help would be greatly appreciated, also any advice on where to spend the level up points... health/magicka/stamina would be useful

I'm a little confused to be honest. I would just play and learn. That is the best advice I can give.

necromancer is a pretty clear side of the conjuring tree, if you take a look at it when you open the skills area

it sounds like you've got the "route" already... climb the necromancer part of the tree, enchanting and alchemy both raise your casting abilities... and I'd recommend that you hold off on the nightengale armor until later if you want it to be high enough level for you to "finish" the game...

Sorry, guess I didnt explain enough, the first thread outlines how u can use alchemy, enchanting, and smithing in a loop to make progressively better potions and armor... it goes on to explain what perks are needed to reach the armor cap (around 600 armor) with almost any kind of armor in the game.

Necromage is a perk in the restoration tree, and if you become a vampire, this perk makes effects applied to you, including those from armor, more powerful...

So I was just trying to see what the absolute minimum of perks was needed to get to the armor cap wearing nightingale armor as a vampire with necromage

Well first off get your enchanting up and then disenchant something for fortify smithing. Once you have that enchantment what you need is a ring, necklace a pair of gloves and clothing, enchant all of them
With fortify enchanting. If you have alchemy up you can make a potion to make smithing even better. Then if you want you can to the throat of the world and at the highest point there is a notched pickaxe, the pickaxe when equipped adds another 5% to smithing. Then go to the blacksmith's and put on all your items you have enchanted for smithing, equip your pickaxe and drink your potion then go to and upgrade your armor. It's should get pretty high. Then later once you get your alchemy up and you can make stronger potions go back to the smith the same gear. Just put on all your stuff, equip the pickaxe and use the strong potion and now that gear should be able to be upgraded again. I'm not sure when you'll hit 600 but I'd just keep checking as you put points into enchanting and alchemy. I know if your looking for 600 you won't need to fill them up all the way, if you do it'd be way higher then 600 on item that you have smithing points invested into. Also you enchanting you can enchant a ring, necklace and circlet and I think one other thing to fortify alchemy which will make you have insane potions.

I can't give you an actual number, but you could simply not spend perks in the Light Armor tree until you've crafted the best possible gear, and tested how much Fortify Light Armor gear you need (although you're limited to ring and necklace if you've got full Nightingale on).

Also, that number you're asking for depends on how willing you are to exploit. Fortify Restoration potions, Falmer Helmet+Circlet, and Necromage+vampire could all be things considered "out of bounds" by some players.

P.S. Since you're going to max out Enchanting, there is no use for Recovery in the Restoration tree. Don't take it if you're trying to minimize perk expenditure. Sneak/Pickpocket can also be fortified with enchantments; you probably don't need to 5/5 those either.
