Alto Wine Quest?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 4:40 pm

I haven't experienced many bugs with this game (thanking my lucky stars), but there is one that bugs me a little. I have noticed that a few items cannot be dropped because the game thinks they are quest related. The problem is the items are things like Alto Wine, Orichalcum ingot, and a few other innocuous items I can't recall at this time. The Alto wine is a good example. For a long time I used these as stamina potions. But then, for apparently no reason, the game decided that one of them was quest related and now I cannot drop it (or any of the other bottles of Alto wine). I cannot drink them either. As far as I can tell there is not way to use or otherwise get rid of these wine bottles from my inventory.

Is there a quest that deals with a regular bottle of Alto Wine? I have been thru my journal and I see nothing relating to this and it's kind of frustrating carrying around weight I don't need and cannot get rid of.

A Night To Remember should be the one with Alto Wine.

Thank you. I suppose I should have guessed it would be that one. I woke up in that temple and I just walked away. I will have to finish that quest.

With a little digging I found that Hunt and Gather is the quest that involves the Orichalcum ingot.

I had the same problem with Briarhearts for a while. It was very annoying!

The perplexing thing is that it doesn't work that way for all quests. While I was collecting jazbay graqes I could drop them, eat them, use them for potions, or whatever.

Jazbay graqes were under a misc' quest, in which it was just a fetch mission.
Fire salts, flawless gems (amethyst I think I had), gold bars, etc. didn't become quest items. All under misc'.

Yea, the Oricalcum Ingot should have been named Wylandriah's Ingot. Just another oversight of the Devs, I wonder? LOL Plus, once you pick it up without having the quest, you won't be able to complete/pick up the quest (unless that was fixed). I had Wylandriah's Spoon on me, when I met her and there was no option to take the quest and give her the spoon. -.- That was on my first toon, I've learned not to pick up certain items by now hahahaha

yeah, don't start "A Night To Remember" unless you're prepared to follow through start to finish...it locks up Alto Wine and Giant's Toes as quest items...Oddly, it does NOT lock up Hagraven featjhers., though that is also on the item list...

I didn't even collect the feathers and I still was able to finish the quest. I think the only items I got were the giant's toe and alto wine purely because it was in the temple, and you have to clear it up.

according to wiki there isnt actually a hargraven feather in the temple, even though its on the note. must be a bug.

I think the point was you go look for those items, and it turns out it was a waste of time. Hence why people reference it to The Hangover.

Not a bug. It is probably part of the joke. Alto Wine is not even on the note, but Holy Water is. I took a long time going back to that final place, because I never had any holy water. It never tells you why Alto Wine is locked up either. That final reward of the quest is so worth it though. That staff has saved my butt all the time.

Considering who you're partying with, he probably considers Alto Wine to BE Holy Water....
