No. That is the only area of the game because the land there is volcanic.

Yes, I found them too. There's actually two of them. In one I was attacked by a giant. In the other, dragons. Yes, plural.

i killed them. and when i came back they had respawned and the guy said " look, i don't want to get into another brawl with you " i was like you shouldn't have said Cat in such a derogatory manner then.

No brothels. I was surprised that hot springs did not burn me. Sometimes those things get hot

The furnace in the smith shop wont burn you - hot water sure as hell wont.

What? Most of them burn you. Try the ones in Dawnstar or Riften.

I've jumped in all of then - never been hurt by them.
Ditto for the fires in cities to light the city.

East of Whiterun near the Eldergleam cave I think.

They don't really hurt that bad, just set you on fire so you take fire damage.

The valley between Riften and Windhelm (more precisely, north of Darkwater crossing) has lot of thermal pools. That depression is basically the caldera of an old sleeping volcano. The bradisism phenomena that have damaged the east road from Riften to Windhelm actually makes me think that the underlying volcano is far from being inactive and the recent (on a geological scale) events at red mountains may have repercussions in that area too.

Basically, if that volcano awakes, Windhelm is gone for good and east Skyrim will be engulfed in a cloud of ashes as Vvanderfell was.
