Enchanting a pair of boots

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 8:54 pm

I have a pair of Ebony Boots.

What is the maximum I can enchant it with Carry Wieght and how would I do it?

Same question for rings and amulets?

With enchanting at 100 and all the right perks, without potions boosting enchanting skill you would get 37 extra carry weight on each.

Thanks for your reply.

My question is What is the maximum (without cheating)? Your answer says I can go still higher.

So what is the maximum using every available in game thing including other people, NPCs, etc?

I've yet to get alchemy to 100 with all the right perks in the tree and make a fortify enchanting potion, so honestly I don't know. Sorry :(

I have a pair of boots with 42 carry weight, and I use just under the maximum abilities (I have 100 alchemy/enchanting/smithing/etc. but I didn't bother going for a total maximum potion boost). That's with a 127% enchantment potion by the way, so probably a bit higher than that.

there is no maximum since it is possible to create a runaway effect with enchant/alchemy loops using ingame methods.

Thanks.

My Boots of the Ox, which I found somewhere in random loot, has a carry enchantment of 45.

I was hoping to make my own enchanted Boots with a higher value. Oh well. [sigh] At least if I do, they will match my armor.

I think I know what he means, he's saying use alchemy to make an enchanting potion, use that to make a stronger fortify alchemy gear, use that to make stronger fortify enchantment potions, use them to make stronger fortify alchemy gear, etc...

alchemy potions effects count as restoration spells. Mix a fortify restoration potion, drink it, mix a better fortify restoration potion drink it.. etc etc. Finally make omgwtf enchant potion and create godly gear of death and destruction. Edit: completely breaks the game ofc.

Yep makes the game very very boring. Which is why I started my game over, no using but 1 set of alchemy gear, no dawnstar chest, no spamming banish daggers for money, no buying all reagents then killing and reloading on shop keeper to get endless supply of reagents. And I tell you what I'm having a lot more fun.

Nice... But sorry that it doesn't work for me. Even with a Fortify Health 147 pts for 60 scs/Restore Health 230 pts. I tried all combinations but it doesn'ìt work on PC. :nope:

I thought that capped out after 3 or 4 loops? Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the advice :)

No, you need fortify restoration. Not fortify health or restore health. You are fortifying restoration the school of magic, and it does work. Drink fort restoration potion. Equip fort alchemy item. Make fort rest potion. Drink. Reequip item. And so on. Takes about five iterations to get in the six digit range.

Yes, fortify alchemy is capped. But fortify restoration is not.

The only time I had carry weight boots was the +35 ones I found in loot. Having the Steed Stone and those boots made things a lot easier. I hope I find some in my current game because it's not likely I'll get the skill to make great ones. :tes:

Steed Stone = Wearing armor does not affect speed, carry weight +100 and equipped apparel is weightless
