Red X's on the Map that came w preorder?

I noticed theirs quite a few small red x's on the map, in random locations. Does anyone know what lies at any, or all of the destinations? I tried going to one or two but couldn't discover anything of signifigance, maybe I missed it?

IIRC they are locations of Guardian Stones.
