Now I want to take what I have learned to help you make your own base/ fort/ house.
First off, it is possible to make a semi fully functional house. What I me by semi fully is, you can sleep in it but you can not safely store or upgrade items like you can in a NORMAL house. This would come into play if you build your house on top of a camp ground. This is also ill advised because if anyone spawns at this location they will likely destroy your home.
Tip 1.) Find a location that has ZERO traffic because even a rabbit can destroy hours of work.
Tip 2.) You can build with anything and I mean ANYTHING.
Tip 3.) Drop items from your inventory and hold down the pick up button, this will allow you to move the item around without re-picking it up.
Tip 4.) If you want to build higher use item, stack them up in a pile to gain a few feet.
Tip 5.) Buckets are the easiest things to stack on each other and take less time but be aware there are 3 different sizes of buckets.
Tip 6.) Most Items are pretty light, if you bump them with another item you could destroy hours of work.
Tip 7.) Shields make for the best roofs.
Tip 8.) If you don't want to start you own building from scratch try building against a hunters cage or against a rock.
Tip 9.) To maximize your building materials get a follower, pack them and yourself to the brim and get a horse.
Tip 10.) Save often.
Tip 11.) If you are having issues with pieces being turned the wrong way, pick up an item and push the item you want turned. This will allow you to put items in the direction you want.
